I just you a PM with the address.

Anybody know what types of rooms connect to what?
Specifically can I get a queen/bunk room, connecting to a 2 queen room? I'm looking at deluxe savannah view rooms.

If this has been answered before I apologize.

Thanks

We had connecting rooms last week, savannah view standard. We had two queens connecting with a queen/bunk. So they probably have the same in deluxe rooms. I'm sure if you call AKL they will tell you.

Laurabearz, happy (early) birthday! I can't wait to see your one-bedroom suite photos upon your return. Take good ones, will ya, for us photo-starved Dis'ers?! ;)

CaliforniaDreaming, you asked for photos of a deluxe bunk bed room. I kinda have some. The second bedroom in my 5th floor two-bedroom suite was a connecting room, and therefore fits both the "deluxe" and "bunk bed" categories that you are craving: click here to see the suite's second bedroom. I hope that helps.

Janet...... it was your pictures that convinced me to go all out! LOL But I will take lots of photos too. I just gotta remember to take them before we sprawl out, so they look as nice as your!! hee hee

I just got an AP rate of $109 for standard room so I got to upgrade from POR. I am sure this has been answered before but with a 4 yr old I don't have time to check all the pages to this--Is the transportation ok?? We will be going to MVMCP and MK 2 days and am concerned about waiting a long time for buses or having to stand the whole time--any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Anyone have the Concierge e-mail address? I missed the safari last time, And want to make sure we get it in December!! Thanks!

AKL has the best transportation of all the resorts I have stayed at. It does not share the bus with any other resort and there is only one stop so no full buses driving by. I was there for almost a week and only had to wait for more than 10 minutes once. The drive to the parks may be 2 or 3 minutes longer than some of the other resorts, but I'd rather have dedicated bus serivce that isn't trying to cram people from several resorts on one bus anytime

The only time I had to stand was at park closings and most people were giving the seats to parents of sleeping kids.

We were at AKL in July, and sometimes the busses were very slow, very crowded, and actually did share once with people going to Animal Kingdom from EPCOT. At the parks it seemed like we waited a very long time to get busses back to hotel. Maybe they've changed something?

We were at AKL the first week of June and thought the bus service ws fantastic! We never (and I'm not just saying this) had to wait for a bus the whole time we were there. As we walked up to the bus stop the bus we needed just happend to be there. It may never happend like that again but it was great. This was at all bus stops DD, MK, Epcot, MGM. We did wait once at AK to go back to the AKL about 5 min. I know this must sound funny but it really was fantastic!

We are booked at AKL for Spring Break. Only one concern, our two young kids could get picky about food (especially during travel) so I am wondering if they have kid friendly items (ie. chicken nuggets, fries, etc.) at the AKL restaurants.

In the pictures of AKL, it looks like the resort is shaped so that from your savannah balcony, you're looking straight over to another balcony across the way. Is this how it really is?

We are renting a car this visit. Approximately how long does it take to get from AKL to International Drive? Is it worth it to go there for cheaper meals versus the time you are out of the park? How much are the breakfast buffets at Golden Corral etc...

Thanks for the help!!

In September 2003’s issue of the Disney Vacation Club’s Member Clubhouse newsletter, the following was stated regarding pool hopping at both the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Yacht and Beach Club Resorts:
- - - - - - -
Pool hopping policy
Please remember that unless you're a registered Guest of Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts or Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, pool hopping is never allowed at Stormalong Bay and Uzima Pool. Quiet pools at those resorts are also off-limits, unless you are a registered Guest of the resort. There are no exceptions to this policy.

I will be staying at AKL in Oct. Do I need a PS to eat in Jiko and Boma?

Yes, I recommend a PS for both. They are not always necessary at "non-busy" times, but I have found I always need one at Boma. You may shorten your wait time by having a PS so I think it is worth it.:D

I would definitely recommend getting PS for ANY restaurant you really want to try. Boma is notorious for considerable waits even WITH PS. October is going to be very busy - at least the weekend I'm going 9-13th. Good luck!

So, I don't need a PS to eat there but it would help to have a PS to shorten the wait. Is that right? What # do you call to get a PS? Do they run out of PS times?

Another thing I need help with is understanding where exactly the three savannahs are located. On the resort map it only has Kudu, Zebra,Ostrich, and Giraffe trails but does not list the savannahs. Is the Arusha savannah the entire inside of the horseshoe shape? And maybe Sunset and Uzima are on the outside, on either side of the horseshoe shape?

Thanks for your help :D
