The Pool honestly is bigger & nice too, but the slide is lacking...The pool at Kidani is soo much more intimate(as is the resort) & the pool slide is awesome there

I need advice from the AKL experts. I have two rooms booked (well, I've booked one, my sister the other). Both are one bedroom studios--one at Jambo, one at Kidani. Price is close to the same, but I'm thinking that we use the one at Kidani since it has 2 bathrooms and is a Savannah room (just booked it with the 20% discount Disney just released). Jambo is standard view, but then there's the advantage (?) of being closer to the main lobby decor/activities, and I think it has the better pool?

Would love advice on room requests too--I have a TP subscription so I'm off to check there.

Our stats: we're a party of 5, 2 adults (me and my sister) who don't mind sharing a king bed and then 3 tween girls who will sleep on the pull outs.

You probably want to be careful about your terminology so that you get correct answers. DVC had studios and one-bedroom villas. There's no such thing as a one-bedroom studio. Please note that I'm trying to be helpful, not nit-picky. The layout, furniture, appliances, etc. are completely different.

Just depends. I was able to get into my room at POFQ this past June at like 9 in the morning. I took what ever room they had available.

Forgot to mention in the earlier post...you and your sister will LOVE the master bathroom at Kidani. It's very large.

Our waitlist came through yesterday and we now have a savannah view. YAY!!!! The only two times I have been away on my birthday we will be at Disney and more specifically AKL.

I am on the Touring Plans room finder, and I can't find our room type. We booked Savanna View Bunk bed, and I only see Arusha Savannah bunk bed rooms in the list. Does this mean all Savanna view bunks are on the Arusha Savannah? I was going to request Arusha, but don't want to if it is redundant. I'm sure I can find other stuff to request instead!

The Room Finder Tool is extremely inaccurate when it comes to room amenities, types and views. We have always found it best to describe what we're looking for in a room instead of requesting specific rooms or even blocks of rooms.

You can edit the "fax request" on touring plans and request exactly what you want. For example "We are so excited to stay in a bunk bed room. We would most like the Arusha Savanna view, but if you can put us in a room close to the elevator, we would really appreciate the pixie dust" (or "close to the pool" or "it's important for us to be on the second floor" or whatever). I have been extremely lucky with my room requests and have almost always gotten exactly what I asked for (even if I didn't know the ramifications... Like the partial boardwalk view over at the boardwalk inn would be REALLY loud). I have yet to have a bad room at AKL but I always book standard and ask for "any partial savanna view".

Quick question- we are thinking about upgrading(paying to upgrade) to a 1 bedroom when we get there if they have any available. My question is, since we are renting DVC points for the stay, would this be something we could even do?
