Splurge for the cup/refillable mug...$17...Is well worth it...Best deal in WDW if you ask me.....

We will have the mugs with our dining plan and mine will be very diverse. Coffee, wine, etc. I might even get something that is actually included with it!

Didn't necessarily mean yoeu , but just in general...In the grand scheme of things with all WDW prices going up and things getting way outta hand, to me the souvenier mug ( we buy 2 ) pays for itself within the 2nd or 3rd day If you ask me...:confused3 If you add up the coffees we'd get each morning & the sodas or iced teas/ juices prior/during pool time, or coming back from parks. I think it'd be wayy more.

Definitely! I like to take them to work, adds a little bit of magic to my day!

It's very exciting to say we will be there next month! I'm so excited about AKL, really, really excited. I am equally excited for the F&G Festival in Epcot!

Well we go the last day of May but I guess I can officially say we go next month too! Thanks for the excitement this morning!

Oooh me too! We don't arrive onsite until 6/2, but we travel and arrive in Orlando on 5/31. Next month! Yay!

We arrive on Tuesday next week for 1 night at AKL. Bringing my Mom on her first ever trip. We move to CR on Wednesday but due to a flight change needed 1 night elsewhere and after mulling things over we picked AKL. Even better is we are not going to the parks, we'll have a full day there. She's going to flip over waking up to look at the animals the next morning.

Really? I don't get that at all. You can't fill it in the parks. I don't know what the norm is but we eat very few meals in our resorts. I don't find any value in the mugs whatsoever.
Even less if you are on the dining plan as the meals all come with a beverage already. Which I guess is why they throw them in with the dining plan. They know most aren't getting that many drinks in them anyway so they aren't out that much.
Coffee is free in the rooms and I think the coffee there is better than what I find in the QS locations too.
Not to mention the rationing they do now in how often you can get a drink

Honestly, that is how I feel too. We don't do a dining plan, so we'd have to pay OOP for it. DH mentioned one time maybe we should do it and I told him he was crazy. Do you realize how many cases of soft drinks we'd buy for $15-$20?? There is no way we'd drink enough to make it even somewhat worthwhile!

So the DDP is a good deal, but only if you get the mug thrown in? Paying OOP is for it is something you'd never do?

What about buying a $25 stuffed animal that your kid may want, or the candy that costs 5.95 + tax or the light up toys that you buy down there that are 3 x's the price as back home.....Or paying to eat a meal in any WDW restaurant which we know we wouldn't spend when at home, for better quality & service.

All's I was saying is Yes it is a good deal for $17 because for the average person, I'm sure they buy QS meals or snacks at the resorts some of the time ( Not talking about any kind of DDP )Downtime at the pool, while watching the kids swim...These are where the refills do their magic... Each time they fill up is saving from buying a 1 and done soft drink.. Also, we do drink some coffee in the room, but before we head to the parks, we may grab a pastry & refill our mug. While the kids fill theirs with juice or so.....During our time down there ( avg. between 8-10 nights) I'm sure we would've paid upwards of $100 or so....OOP.

When it comes to WDW, we are far from cheap.....Yes We could save money & eat off property, but WE don't..We enjoy the ambience & the setting, so we'll continue to pay for it....Do I need the $11 beer when I pass by Rose & Crown...No but it's right there at that moment...Do I like shelling out $100 -200 walking & eating around the world @ F&W, No, because it's not cost effective, but it does make us happy(Regardless of the price) There are sooo many more things that I can bring up that we all know we pay a high price for , but we do it anyway...I just think that for a mere 17 bucks this is one of the ways to actually get some of it back.

Couldn't help it had to share more of my photo's

Thank you so much for the beautiful pics. We are staying at AKL for the first time in September, Savannah view, and it's overwhelming trying to decide which room/area/view to request. Your post is so helpful!

Hi, hoping some of you experts can help. Last time we stayed at AKL (2014) The front desk said that some of the rooms are getting a refurb, and would accommodate a family of 5 (standard room) Similar to some of the rooms at POR. Like a couch/bed or a chair that converts to a bed. Has anyone heard any truth to this for the future? Now that my youngest is past the age of 3, I am trying to figure out if we can ever stay there again without getting a suite.

Thank you!!! :)

Does anyone have a list of the current activities that are going on cookie decorating at Boma etc ..we arrive next week!

Does anyone have room service tips. DH will need a meal before our 8:30am tour at MK and I think it's risky to try and hit The Mara, can we get breakfast in the room as early as 6am? or do they start taking orders at 6am?
