So excited!! Ds and I have been gifted a stay at AKV for his 16th bday. We will be in a standard view-deluxe studio at Kidani. Dates are Jan 2-6. I've only visited AKL once for dinner at Boma. Can't wait to stay there. I'm already giddy.

We are going to our first stay at AKL in May 2015.

So, here's my situation. My travel dates are 12/5-12/12-15. My TA is getting me a great deal on AKL (sav) or BW (STD).

Info: 2 adults, 2 kids (6,3). 5 day tix w/hopper. Main park is MK. 3 days of resort/DTD (down time).

I'm really leaning toward AKL, but have read on a few other boards that the rooms are very dark and not inviting. Bus rides are long to the parks, etc.

My first choice was WL, but not part of the deal as it's Christmas time and they have an awesome lobby.

Be honest and tell me the GOOD about AKL!nk

That is really exciting... I too have only ever gone to AKL for Boma's and we will be staying there for the first time in May 2015. You'll have to tell me (us) all about your stay and your take on things, being new to the resort and a fresh pair of eyes

Epcot , maybe 7-8minutes.
MK , maybe 18-19 mins.
HS, 6-7 mins.

Assuming it's a DVC booking, the member has to call member services. You won't get a direct line to anyone who does bookings at Kidani (or any resort.).

I am currently booked at a Royal Room at POR. Looking into upgrading to a standard room at WL or AKL. Has anyone have advice on what to choose? Stay at POR? Upgrade? AKL or WL? Distance from parks is not important. Transportation reliability, pool, resort activities, and room (cleanliness, distance from lobby, amentities) are most important to us. We usually spend 1 evening and 1 full day at our resort during our 6 night stay. Other than that, we sleep/shower/eat breakfast.

I recently spent 1 night at POR in a Royal room before moving to BWV. I loved the room and would gladly stay there again in the future!

Now having said that........ I love AKL and if I was planning on spending resort time, AKL would for sure be my choice!

WL is lovely, however, they are currently undergoing renovations (as is Poly). I don't know to what extent and if those renovations are affecting guests, but I personally wouldn't care to stay during refurbishment.

So my simple answer would be AKL!

I need to stop looking at prices! We are currently booked for August 2015 GV YC and we were really excited to stay so close to Epcot with the dining plan with all of the food options available on the doorstep. I was looking to change the dates slightly and was pricing it up online when I discovered we could do AKL CL for £60 more than the YC for a 14 night stay. We've stayed at AKL 3 times and we love the resort and the idea of CL is really tempting me. I can see them needing to load us onto the flight home with a crane if we have the DDP and free snacks in the lounge lol. What do you think?
