Disney's ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE Information & Questions

I'm spazzing. My brain is officially on vacation. This time tomorrow I'll be swinging down Main Street giggling like Goofy!

At Kidani, you definitely want Sunset Savannah. It's the better one there, just like Arusha is the better one at Jambo.

Lower floor gets you closer to the animals, so we liked that.

However, if you do drive, Kidani has convenient under-building parking out on the wings, where away from lobby might be better!

Great! We rented a car (as usual) for maximum flexibility and we love walking. So I'll put in for a lower floor so we can see the animals up close. We don't want them to look tiny-teeny & far away.

We just decided to visit WDW during Christmas week! Have never stayed at AKL before. We booked a pool view with bunk beds. We have visited AKL before and know that we love the atmosphere, but I didn't really want to book a savanna room (call me crazy :rotfl2:). I think the animals are really cool, but I just have a thing with wanting to look out at water when I'm at Disney.

So, tell me about the pool view rooms? Are there better ones to request?

We have a son (11) and a daughter (15) so we are pretty excited about the bunk beds! Do the bunk beds make the room feel really small since they take up a lot of space?

Thanks!!

We found the bunk bed pool view room on Zebra Trail to be wonderful! We were on the 3rd floor (lobby level). The room was near the lobby; very convenient to everything! :thumbsup2 (it was either #3416 or #3422 - we had 2 rooms that trip and I can't remember which is which!! :upsidedow).

As far as the space feeling small: the room actually felt bigger! One of our rooms had 2 queens, the other a queen and the bunk beds - the bunk bed room was roomier! ;)

Can I be added to the list?
I will be at AKL Jambo House from Jan 17 to 24th.
First time staying there so I am really excited.

My sister and I will be at AKL November 12-22 in a pool view room. I have wanted to stay here for years and for one reason or another, it never fell into place. 18 more days!!:yay::cheer2::cool1:

Question about the coffee makers. Are they the kind that use pods?

In your guys' opinions, between Jambo and Kidani, which has the better animal viewing experience? We'll be renting DVC points, are both able-bodied youngins :lmao: so having to hike to our room is no biggie.
We'll probably only be in our rooms early mornings and evenings but we both really want to be able to sit and drink some coffee in the morning and possibly an adult beverage in the evenings while watching the animals.

.....the far end of Kudu Trail at Jambo is really nice.....

So excited!! Ds and I have been gifted a stay at AKV for his 16th bday. We will be in a standard view-deluxe studio at Kidani. Dates are Jan 2-6. I've only visited AKL once for dinner at Boma. Can't wait to stay there. I'm already giddy.

So I did my on-line check-in. It didnt seem to have an option for bad types so I chose Upper floor Kudu trail (its a standard view room res.). I really need to emphasize the need for two queen beds as my son in 6'4". Bunkbeds would be disastrous for us. Anyone know the fax number?

They don't take faxes anymore. If it's a regular cash booking, you have to call the regular booking line and ask them to add that request to your booking. Most of the rooms are queen beds, so if you did get a bunk, they should be able to move you to a queen. Good luck!

That is really exciting... I too have only ever gone to AKL for Boma's and we will be staying there for the first time in May 2015.

You'll have to tell me (us) all about your stay and your take on things, being new to the resort and a fresh pair of eyes :)

Woot! Woot! :cool1:

For the first time since purchasing AKV, I was able to score an AKV club-level studio for next fall (there are only 5 2-bedroom lock-offs in AKV concierge)! My 11-month booking window opened this morning and I was constantly refreshing the webpage starting at 7:45 just so I could be in right away when the opportunity would become available at 8:00.

Looking forward to enjoying a leisurely stay, doing the safari and sampling the hospitality of the concierge lounge. We've never tried it at Jambo House and it promises to be a real treat!

I'm just so excited that I had to post about it somewhere and I know that you'll understand my enthusiasm.
