A couple of small updates-Sports is in the process of adding full-size hair dryers and the All-Star Resort now has some "All-Star Resort" "branded" items(magnet,keychain,postcard,"hanging metal ornament",mug,shot glass).

thought I read somewhere that the entire Touchdown Building is preferred now but can't seem to find where I read it. anyone else hear that?
2009 we were in the Homerun Building facing the "quiet pool". It wasn't quiet. I like the look of the Center Court Building theming

I'm here now. We requested football section. We were assigned a room in the home run section. When we talked to the front desk we were told that the Touchdown buildings are now preferred. I would have booked preferred if I had known.

Hey everyone. Good to know about the Touchdown changing to preferred. It figures!! It was closer in some parts that the back sides of Surfs Up. I didn't book preferred and am wondering the same as Mac: should I change it to preferred and just pay the few extra dollars?

Edited: I just looked and it would be only 46 dollars more to book preferred, so I changed it as I don't want to be stuck in the boonies again like last year: 3 floor up in the hoops hotel, surrounded by a bunch of loud teenagers.

So I booked the following for my trip in October, need opinions:

First night: Restaurant Marrakesh (EPCOT)
2nd day: lunch at Yak and Yeti (AK), was originally booked at Tiffin's but looked at their menu and I can't justify the costs of this new place, holy moly.
3rd day: Lunch at Sanaa, my favorite place to eat.
4th day: Haven't decided if I am just going to wing it, this is my last day and I have to leave the hotel around 3:30pm to catch DME back to the airport.

I want to fit in a lunch at Gaston's (first time). Also will try the special booths at EPCOT for the F&W Festival.

God willing I will be ready for this trip. I have 3 months to get my knee into shape.

This makes me sad, It is $300 for my upgrade and I am trying to decide if it is worth the extra steps hmmm. It is only hubby and myself but I know how soar my feet are after a few days.

Any suggestions for other non-preferred areas to request?

Does all star sports have queen beds at all? I thought it was full size in room with 2 beds?

They are full size. All values have full size beds. Not sure if they all offer King rooms or not as well.

They do but they are by request only. King Bed are not a bookable category at the Values and Deluxes.

Me too, I looked up to switching to preferred for our dates and it is an extra $300, I can put that money to better use and just keep my sore toes walking

Well one good thing is that Sports isn't as big as some other resorts.

Wow I booked bounceback last September and requested Touchdown. I'm wondering if they will honor the fact that it was 10months ago when I booked it wasn't preferred then. I feel that they should honor requests on already booked reservations and make the new reservations reflect the preferred buildings. I'm going to do on line check and and check touchdown and see what happens.

Requests are just requests. They are never guaranteed, so there's nothing to honor.
