Does anyone know if there is any event going on 9/29-10/2 that would require sports teams to stay at ASSp? Obviously I know if sports teams are just going on vacation, there's no way to know that in advance. Just wondering if there's any scheduled events. I'm not necessarily that concerned about it, just curious. Thanks!

the backside of that building is trees and foliage.
it is beautiful, peaceful and very quiet.

i have stayed there also.
very nice setting.

came back to add that the one end is near the baseball / football bleachers.

Yes, now that you said building 7, I remember that's the one. We stayed in that one once and it was nice! Because of that, the next time I requested "football building" instead of "football building 7." Dummy me, didn't even think that they might actually put us in the OTHER football building. Sure enough, we got to listen to the trucks backing up during the night.

I am SO excited! We will be there is a few weeks & I can't wait!! We have stayed here many times & enjoyed it!!!

Have a great time, I am so jealous! I am supposed to be going the first week of December but my bring my trip closer to the week before Thanksgiving. I am jonesing pretty bad right now, haven't been since October 2009. We stayed at POP and I didn't really enjoy it all- too big for me.

Honestly, no noise in the world is as loud and annoying as the power washer they parked 3 feet from our room window at Pop Century every other morning to power wash the pool starting at like 6-6:30am. That thing sounded like a plane taking off and continued for at least an hour. Calling the front desk to complain about it was like talking to a brick wall. They kept promising to take care of it but never would. We were in that room for 2 weeks and I was seriously lacking sleep because it always seemed to happen on late nights at MK after we would get back around 3am.

We have stayed in the Homerun Section building 9 the last two times. If you are looking at building 9 from the pool we were to the left of the scoreboard. We found it very quiet over there. There is a few trees there so the noise stays low. And we could see the pool but far enough away to where it didnt bother us at all. we went back to our room every afternoon and never had a problem

Awesome....thanks! We are actually staying through October 7th but will be checking into the Villas at Wilderness Lodge on October 2nd. My first time staying at both those resorts and I'm really excited!

We just returned from 3 nights at the sports bldg. 10 facing the football. There was a ton of noise at night...I had to call the front desk 2 nights at 1:30 in the am there were groups of unsupervised teens out front sitting on the field clapping, yelling, playing music loudly. Really rude. We have AP and live close so we go a lot and have stayed at most of the resorts and never experienced this before. We have stayed at the sports other times and never had this in other buildings. I would not stay by the football field again.

It is $15 per night. Call housekeeping to request since you cannot reserve in advance.

A quick google search mentioned this in the first link. However, further investigation shows you are right - doesnt appear to be any wireless.

Just back from another great stay at the AsSp. We didn't request any particular building. We were in a non-preferred room in building 7 Touchdown on the 3rd floor, corner room with view of the Homerun pool.

Construction on the football field looked to be nearing completion. Grass was being replaced all around the Homerun pool.

The hotel was bustling with tons of high school sport/cheer teams but they were very well behaved.

BIG TANTRUMS going on in foodcourt re: the new mug policy. I saw several families walk in with old mugs from previous trips and then get really upset when they no longer worked.
The system has some kinks that definitely need to be worked out. Lot's of grumpy guests!

We had a great time and feel like we are home when we are at the Sports.

I wonder if Disney will stick it out with the new machines or give up on the mess it makes. I would think it would make for loss of some guests as well as some CM's if there are tantrums going on.
