Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

Just a warning to all my DIS board friends that I will be nekkid at Disney this trip.

It seems that my bag of Christmas decorations did not make the cut in our recent move and are stashed somewhere in Indiana.:confused3

So not wild room decorations, nary a can of corn.:scared1:

Unless I find time to do a new one there will be no Slightly Goofy decorated walker.

I do have some of my famous t shirts but not enough for all ten days.:sad2:

You will have to just recognize me by my big silly grin.;)

SG/Linda 11/27-12/07 Sports, where else?

Oh Linda, I am so jealous. Today was to be the first day of my solo trip and I was going to stay at AS Sports- now I wont get the chance to see you again. I cancelled this trip because I just took a week off in the end of October to help my younger son,he recently had knee surgery and was pretty out of it for a few days. Hope everything is going well for you and congrats on your move.

Just booked and will be there Jan 28th!!! YAHOOO now I will have visited all of the All Stars, but this time is without kids!

Anyone know if there will be a chance of having a King bed in non preferred room?

Does anyone know when the last time All Star Sports was last renovated? I heard that Disney was finally putting the fridges in the value resorts. Has this happened yet?

Thanks!!

As far as I know you still have to pay per day for a fridge or can join a fridge swap.

I'll be there over NYE so I'll ask for you though!

I believe it was rehabbed in 2007. The fridge rumor is just that, a rumor.

We stayed at ASSp last weekend and at ASMo last month - no fridge in either room.

For not being rehabbed since 2007, our room at ASSp was suprisingly spiffy. The matresses looked brand new and the room was very clean. :thumbsup2

Is All Star Sports still doing the trial with the refillable mugs? Just wondering how it is?

We will be coming back next November staying in preferred, which blocks are the preferred and can anybody suggest which blocks are best.

Thanks Mark

preferred is in the Surfs Up building. But if you dont want to spend the extra money Sports is not a big resort so the walking distance isnt to bad at all.

I have booked ASSP and am very excited to be going back at the end of April.:goodvibes It will be myself, DH, DD Gabrielle, and DD Sophia. We were just there in September at POP.
I cant wait!!! Only 4 more months!!!:yay:

wow been a long time since any posted!

Hows the weather there??

for my first stay at Sports... My sixteen year old daughter and her best friend will be joining us so Sports will be perfect for them. I'm so excited!!! We have two rooms (hopefully connecting) but if not that's ok too. Will anybody else be there too? The fridge swap is booked so at least one diser will be joining me. :cool1:

I loved LOVED LOVED Sports!!:thumbsup2

The castmembers were awesome! The bus service was superior!
The food court was amazing! The room was perfect! The value was excellent!

I have stayed at WL, Pop, Poly, BC, and POFQ. Here's how I would rank them:

1. POFQ - It's just so pretty.
2. Sports - For Disney, the value can't be beat.
3. WL - Lodge is pretty but too expensive!
4. BC - Pool is nice but too expensive!
5. Poly - Nothing about this place is worth the price! Not a fan.

There were teenage girl groups and Brazilian tour groups. They didn't bother us at all. We even found them to be a lot of fun to hang with! :thumbsup2

That's my two cents! I will definitely be back! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
