Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

Does AS Sports have privacy curtains in the bathroom area?

Just booked ASSpo for ESPN weekend. I haven't stayed there in many years but I loved it so I am very excited to go back!

We were thinking about going to ESPN the Weekend in 2012. Could you tell me the dates? We have stayed at Sports several times and we love it! :goodvibes

i hope you love the allstar sports as much as i do !!

it has become my 'home away from home' place.

Thanks, it's our first trip without the kids (18 and 21 so it's time!). I am going to request the touchdown building since my DH is a high school football coach.

I also prefer the size of All Star Sports over the more spread out resorts.....

Actually I do too. We stayed at POP in October 2009. My hubby and older son loved it but I thought it was just too spread out and way too many people. I will take AS Sport anyday. I am staying there the first week of december, right along with the POP Warner kids. I have stayed during this time as well and have had no problems with them.

On my first 'real' Disney trip in 1996, we stayed at this new hotel, All Star Sports. We had a room in the baseball hotel in the 9000's section. My mother and I were quite dismayed the first time we got to our room because of the size. Then...after a few minutes, we realized we weren't going to be in it that much, so it didn't matter! Sure we had a long walk to the busses...but they took you RIGHT TO THE PARKS.

The All Star Resorts have always been where I've stayed, and they always will.

I just got back from a trip staying at ASSp and we really love it there. Our stays have been in the football building. The first time closest to the food court and not a lot of kids played sports on that end of the field. This time we were on the open end of the field furthest from the food court. There were a lot of teams who praticed there during the day but nothing too noisy. There was one night that some kids were screaming at the top of their lungs and playing football while their chaperones encouraged them. Once 10pm came around the security asked them to quit and go to their rooms. Honestly, it wasn't too bad in the room especially with the TV on. The teams really only took away from the trip when a huge group would jump in the pool all at once and get rough despite the other people and little kids in the pool. Other than that it was not bad at all.

The kids can sure get out of hand, but I still haven't seen anything as bad as when we were at WDW the same time as the cheer leading competitions. That was bad everywhere we went.

I saw a lot of sports teams at Sports too when I was there, and the pool can definitely get rowdy at night! :scared1:

Glad you had a good stay there! :goodvibes

Just booked sports for this October! This will be our first time staying on site and I'm surprising my DS5 with the trip when I pick him up from school! Stretching Columbus Day weekend into a 5 night stay.

Does AS Sports have privacy curtains in the bathroom area?

We did have a shower curtain at ASSp last year and also in 2008...

So unless they've been removed since May 2010 then I can say they most certainly have them both in Touchdown and Surf's Up.

all of the hotels including value, have shower curtains.

i think what the person was asking if sports had a privacy curtain.

they do not have privacy curtains.

the privacy curtain goes across the entrance to the bathroom area.
it is across the door opening into the area where the sink and closet are located.

Macraven, we sold our home. Closing is Wednesday, auction is Saturday and ASAP we will be hitting the road looking for a Florida home!

I have seen privacy curtains in some Sports rooms and not in some. Might be a building thing. I do not worry cause the threat of me taking off my clothes makes folks close their eyes, and even ears. :rotfl2:

Ah I see, I've never heard of them personally then, maybe it's because I'm from the UK. We just change in the bathroom or close the room curtains, it's normally only me and my family though, so there's never a problem :goodvibes

i'm so excited for you!!!

WOOT.......

selling a house these days is not easy.
i just went thru that.
long story.

i have stayed at both preferred buildings, both touchdown buildings and have not had the privacy curtain outside the lavatory area.

sorry if i have given info that hasn't meshed.

i have not seen any posts saying they had the privacy curtains at AllStar Sports.

heard that music has them though.

ignore me on the privacy curtains.
i should say, the rooms i have stayed in and rooms my friends have stayed in, did not have the privacy curtains.

Is there a place where you can use a computer to do the advance flight checkin?

You can go to concierge at your hotel & have them check you in and print out your boarding passes. If you are at the park when you need to be checked in you can go to guest services at any park & they will do it for you. I have done both many times. :goodvibes

We stayed at ASSP from June 6-13 and it was wonderful. We were in the Touchdown building and my son ran the football field every morning on our way to the buses. It was a special memory we will always have. If it wasn't for free dining we would have stayed at POP. I am so glad we stayed at ASSP!
