Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

So I added a park day on the end of my trip, last day is Friday: 5/13. The flights coming home to Buffalo were $217 per person one way for the flight that I wanted. That is outrageous. So I purchased the late flight, leaving Orlando at 9:30pm and arriving in Buffalo at 12am. Not sure what park I want to do this extra day? The night before we plan on going to MK. I have to decide quick as I need to make Fast passes. It will probably be AK but we will get a late start there, around 11am when we have to check out of Sports.

Oh decisions, decisions: 1st world problems, lol.

<<<40 days and counting. This will be hubby's first trip back in 4 years. Man does he have some catching up to do.

good thing he has a personal guide with him.......tell him you do take tips....

Woohoo, I officially booked my trip this weekend and will be back to WDW in just 39 days! I'm taking each of my three boys on Mommy and Me trips this year for just a few nights and this will be the second of those trips. We've never stayed at All Star Sports so this thread is very helpful. It was the cheapest option for us with the Passholder discount. Usually for short trips we stay at Pop. I don't have any particular love for it, but it's clean and affordable and I'm pretty familiar with it now.

With All Star Sports being smaller I'm trying to decide what room requests to make or if it even matters if I ask for close to transportation. It doesn't look like anything is all that far away. If we want to be close to the lobby and transportation, but not next to the pool, what building would you suggest we ask for?

I'm also wondering about the food court. With the other two All Star resorts nearby, do their offerings differ enough to make it worthwhile to make a trip over to another food court at some point? Also, has anyone dealt with food allergies here, particularly tricky or harder to accommodate food allergies?

Thanks for any input!

As I recall all the offerings (at each food court) are pretty similar. However, the walk in short so you might enjoy the change in scenery/the opportunity to see the other resorts. If you're into pin trading it's an easy way to visit three pin boards in a short amount of time :)

Request Touchdown!/Building 10/Side facing AWAY from the Football Field.

From there you will be just a few minutes from the Bus Stops.:)

World Premiere at Movies does have a little more "varied" menu than Intermission at Music and End Zone at Sports.

I would use the food court at sports

When sports had the remodeling, busses would transport sports guests to movies / music buildings food courts

I had two different stays at sports during that time and ate at both

Same set up basically same food offerings
Might be one dish at one building others don't have

Hey you arrive the same day as we do. I requested the touchdown section, ground floor. The food courts serve the same at all three. You should try the chicken quesadillas, they are tasty.

Our planes arrives around 9:50am, taking the Magical Express to Sports and then off to MK.

Here is a great link for the Food Court offerings so you can decide if something World Premiere or Intermission has that End Zone doesn't would be worth the walk.("around" 5 minutes to Intermission;10 minutes to World Premiere).:)

Very cool then I may see you in a few weeks. I'm a fan of quesadillas so I may just have to try them.

We don't arrive until 6pm so no park for us that day. Just hoping to get to the resort early enough to settle in unpack and get a good nights sleep for rope drop the next morning.

i looked at the menu link and see allears has not updated it still.

the dinner listings that music food court has listed, sports has the same menu
chicken dinners, make your own tacos, etc.

Has anyone been able to confirm the new furniture in the Orbitz picture IS coming to Sports?

I LOVE it-it fits the space so much better that the old furniture.:)

We were just there in February for Princess Half Marathon weekend and tried to get the chicken quesadillas and they had no idea what we were taking about. :(

Can someone help with room request? My only request is a Kind bed, standard room. Should I request a certain building or floor? It has been noted on the ressie, but its not an option for online check-in. It's just DH and I so building, view or location are not priorities. Should I just leave the room request blank? TIA

Yes, skip the room request section during Online Check In. That will give you your best chance of getting a King.
