Gotcha, i'll look into that too. Pop Century was my first choice for a resort on this trip, but it was all booked up sadly

Might check out Pop Century & AoA while i'm at it then, two resorts that i hope to stay at on a future trip!

I am just curious about experience booking a preferred room. I booked one and we arrived and were places in the jazz building 2 pretty far back. I had read a Disney panel post that preferred rooms were calypso... it's nothing to ruin a vacation about but... not what I was expecting.

Originally Calypso was the only Preferred section.

Jazz was made Preferred as well some years ago.

That definitely is discouraging to pay Preferred and be that far from Melody Hall.

If you are ever in a similar situation it is always worth going to the Front Desk and requesting a closer Preferred room.

Not always possible,but happens enough to be worth the effort.

We're enjoying our stay at All Star Music, but buyer beware in the store. They had a Nike Mickey baseball cap with a price tag stating it was $24, a surprisingly good deal, but it rang up as $42. The cashier talked to the manager and said the $24 price was if it was sold at a Nike store, and showed us another tag without a price, saying "this is our tag." They wouldn't honor the price on the tag. I'm not surprised by the outrageous markup, but the tagging is questionable and hopefully a one-time mistake.

That’s illegal in some states. In FL there is wiggle room for an obvious mistake but by their own admission it’s the price charged by Nike so that is not obviously incorrect. The manager of the store is lucky you didn’t turn them in to the state forcing them to explain their incredibly stupid screw up to the higher ups had it been investigated…

Just a quick review of our stay at music-

It was just fine. It checked all the required boxes - clean, fun pool, Disney bubble and reliable transportation.

Our main reason for staying here was the price. 1200 total for 6 nights preferred.

That being said- I don't think the all stars are for us. I just stayed at Pop last month and the difference was noticeable. I really missed pop's updated food court compared to Music. Our first night with dinner there was really disappointing. The mobile order window was the same window pizza orders were being called from and it was confusing and the CM working seemed really stressed. The chicken nachos were really good. We had a second run in with a frustrated stressed CM when ordering a Milk shake and then again at the register. Then our resort mugs wouldn't work to fill. So it was a cluster.

We also were not thrilled with our room location in the back of Jazz building 2 which I guess is technically preferred.. it's on me I really should have spoke up that first day and asked for a different room but I didn't.

We then also had a frustrating experience with an Amazon order. I did not plan on the colder weather so I did a quick Amazon same day/next day delivery. I had all the info- our names, room number.. it was delivered but they could not find it. We ended up splurging on some Disney cold weather items and the next day the package was found and brought to our room but it was too late.

We did really enjoy the activities. My daughter did some poolside games, we made smores, and watched a movie by the pool. The busses were great. We missed ours once and just hopped on one to movies and walked over.

As we were leaving this morning the resort was starting to fill with cheerleaders.

I think we now know that we prefer something different, but we did enjoy our trip!
