Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC Resort

It is possible to walk -- maybe plan for 15 minutes from Music as it's just under a mile away on the map. It's not a super short walk, but it is possible to do and there are sidewalks and crosswalks.

Just got back yesterday from All Stars Music Suites... we had 5 adults stay and we fit perfectly. we stayed in calypso building 1 in the back and it was sooo quiet, i can count on one hand how many times I heard someone!!!! we shared buses with the other all stars but it is like in a moderate you have several stops in one resort so it was no problem because they are so close together. at busy times of the day we had our own buss. I am usually a Moderate snob but I would stay here again if we had 5 people again!

Thanks so much for posting your personal experience!! I know it's not about ASMu but did you have RFID KTTW cards? Any troubles with them?

to racinjunkie... we did have the kttw cards and no problems with them... you had to be right next to the lock for it to unlock the door.. but my husband could just hold up his walet to the lock and it would open the lock... but as far as the new entry globes into the park, no problems, they worked wonderful! I think they need to set them up differently because people go to the first globe and someone has to walk around them to get to the second globe so it is kind of a bottle neck there but it does seem to move quickly if people know how to use them! I did not see anyone with the wrist RFID thingy... it will be nice once they get all of the things that are possible on the wrist RFID ie, room key, park tickets, photopass cards, fastpass, dining, charging.... and who knows what else is in the making...

I have a quick question that I feel sort of silly for asking. Silly because I searched for 15 minutes and can't find the answer, and I'm sure it's on the board somewhere, lol.

What happened to the 3 Caballeros statue at the pool? Is it gone for good? I've seen some recent pool photos and the cement pad it sits on is empty...or I'm looking at the wrong thing

It was gone when we checked in on 3/28 but was back a few days later, probably getting a fresh coat of paint!

I think it really depends on your needs/wants in terms of sleeping arrangements. Personally, I prefer to have proper beds....not pull outs. With both types of rooms you will have two bathrooms and a fridge the only extra thing that the suite will get you is a microwave. Also, on the budget front often room discounts do not apply to the suites.

Another option that you might want to consider is that some of the deluxe resorts accomodate 5. Price wise it could be very similar. You would gain a better location but would loose the big food court....if that matters.

Deluxe is out this trip as we want to stay longer so the resort needs to be as budget friendly as can be at Disney.

I was just worried the pull outs are not as comfy as a real bed. I like the set up better so DH & I can have our own room & tv.

If you want your own room then two connecting rooms is the way to go....you can close the door. The suites are open.

I know a lot of people say the pull outs are comfy enough but I have never in my life slept on any type of pull out that was as comfy as a real bed. Plus, they are rather tiny.

Actually, the family's suites are quite comfy and roomy, being that its just a remodeled, two-room suite. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, night stands, a sitting chair, desk, desk chair, dresser and tv. Also, the bedroom has its own door that will close and lock. The living area has a sofa, chair and ottoman that all pull out to make beds. My kids always sleep on these pull put beds and have never complained. I think that I read on this board that the beds are made so that the support bars are not directly under your back. I have never checked this out myself but that's what I read. Also, the FSs have a kitchenette with a sink, microwave and fridge with ample counters pace and cabinets. Two standard bathrooms are included with sink/vanity areas outside the shower/toilet room. The wall safes and suitcase valets are in this area as well. The living room also comes with its own tv, entertainment center, table, two chairs and a bench seat/coffee table.

I'm not sure what the cost difference is between two standard rooms and one family suite, we just choose the family suite because it feels more homey plus it gives us a p,ace to stock breakfast items, water bottles, snacks, etc., in the kitchenette plus there is only one exit - something that helps when you have little ones.

I agree with AmyzOO. we had 2 adults and 3 teens and it was perfect! the kids each had their own bed we had our own room and bathroom, the kitchenette was a good size and nice to have sink too! I would lay on the pull outs and I did not have any problem with them! if you did get two rooms you will have 4 beds and someone would still have to sleep in your room? good luck deciding!!

We are taking a 2 week trip and decided on a family suite because the kids all get their own bed while DH and I get our own room, and because we'll have places to sit other than beds or small dining chairs.
