Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT Family Suites Information & Questions

Thanks for sharing the photos of the kitchenette...I think it looks very sufficient for what we need. I'm not looking to cook big meals...just enough for breakfast and lunch...you know, easy macs, maybe a sandwich. Certainly cereal for breakfast. Normally we really wouldn't even do this on vacation but this time we will be traveling with a toddler so will be back at the hotel for naps everyday...and restricting our meals out to dinner each evening.

I'm happy to know they are supposed to provide the paper bowls, plates and plastic ware...less to pack for us.

Thanks again, I'm so psyched!

We stayed at the AS Mu Suite in December. There were six of us (and all 16 and up). We had plenty of room (except when all the beds were opened, but that was only at night). I personally had the kids put the bed back before we left for the park, but mousekeeping opened them up each day and made them nice and put them back (the kids just shoved the blankets in and closed up). I was very impressed. We too had bowls, plates, cups and plastic wear. They'll bring more if you need them. I bring my own coffee cause I like Dunkin Donuts coffee best. But we had NO complaints at all. Loved this place. We have only stayed in values so this we great not having to worry that we wouldn't have rooms by each other. You can see a few pics of the room in my trip report (that i'm still working on :confused3 )

I have nothing but good things to say about these rooms!! :)

Yes, our kitchenette looked just like that. We did not have spoons, just plastic knives and forks. Maybe they goofed on that. The paper bowls that they supply are incredibly tiny -- might work for cereal if you fill it and refill it several times. Not to our liking really.

I guess overall it felt very cheap to us. Yes, I know you "get what you pay for", but when they advertise a kitchenette, and this being Disney, we expected a little more than flimsy paper plates and plasticware.

Lesson learned -- no more values for us. :-)

Just switched from 2 rooms at Pop to a Family Suites. WIth the AAA discount it was only $17 more a night which considering we now have a refrigerator ($10) and preferred location ($10) works out well.

Can I STILL hope for a 40% discount or free dining lol!!

Hello All! we will be staying in a family suite in one of the Jazz buildings { according to the TA my dsil has} and i have a few questions. :rolleyes1
1. can you bring your own toaster/toaster oven to the suites? { we will only be doing breakfast tin the suite but might want toast of biscuits or something else not for the microwave}
2.how much do you usually tip for a family of 6? :hippie: { 4 adults/2 kids and nanna is a pick -up-as-you-go kinda gal}
3. we are on the ddp can we use our ddp at a counter service at any of the food courts at the other resorts ? say,akl? :)
4. This is off topic but I gotta ask, is there a rule at the pools or water parks about what swimware you can wear? i hate bathing suites :eek: but wanna get in the water with the dgc but would prefer to wear swim shorts and a tank top.
5. :confused3 And lastly, I have read conflicting reports about coolers at the parks,can you bring a soft sided cooler and store it in a locker/or carry it on a rental stroller,if it is smaller than the lockers? for snacks/water bottles.plastic!

Thank you for any light you can shed on these questions. I love all the pix and info i have gotten on this thread.:surfweb: ..we can't wiat,dgs Blaze has alredy decided the fold out ottoman was his in his words " disney ward bed!":laughing:

I will try to answer your questions:

1. We have brought refrigerators, plug-in coolers, and coffee makers with us, so I don't know why you can't bring a toaster or toaster oven. The only thing I would recommend is unplugging it when you leave. (I'll never forget my friend, who lost her house and her pets due to a faulty toaster oven.) There is also a toaster that you can use in the food court, although it may be available only during breakfast hours.

2. You'll find lots of answers to this one. It really depends on how messy you leave the room, at least IMHO. :goodvibes We are a family of 4 and try to leave $4-5 per day.

3. You can use the DDP at any food court and almost any restaurant in WDW. There's a lot of information on this on the Dining Plan forums.

4. I do not think you'll have any problem with swim shorts and a tank top in the pools.

5. We always bring a soft-sided cooler with water, soda and sometimes snacks. It is not a problem.

On our way in the morning for the suites...I'll be back with pics for sure!!!

Do you think I can fit 1/2 gallon of milk and 12 bottles of soda/water in the fridge?

Trying to decide if I need to bring my softsided rolling backpack......we bring that with us lots of places (last year on a cruise) to put drinks in and if the refrigerator is not big enough I would bring it this summer. Of course it would be nice to NOT have to bring it.

I was wondering how quickly these suites book up. I am planning a trip for the middle or end of October 2008 and I was planning to book the trip by April, but should I book sooner. Has anyone had any problems getting the suites recently. I hope not. Thank you all for all of the other great info. I am loving this thread.:yay: :yay: :yay:

There should not be a problem with booking the suites. I just called about booking for July and there the CM said that there were plenty available. I would call Disney instead of booking online. The suites often show up as being unavailable online when they really are not.

Yes, this will fit in the fridge. It is taller than a dorm type fridge and has a little freezer section. We would put a bunch of waters in the freezer section and then they would be great for the next day in the park. You'd be suprised how much stuff we got in that fridge. It was wonderful.

:goodvibes

How comfortable are the pullout sofa, chair & ottamon?? I mean I am sure they are ok for kids but what about adults? Is there privacy between the sitting room and bedromm?

My kids are mostly grown (16, 19, DIL 21, DS 23) for this trip. They slept fine in the pull outs. There is a door on the 'master' bedroom. This is off of the kitchenette area.

Just back and we loved the suites! As soon as I organize my pics I'll be back for a full report for you all!
