On our next visit we're looking for things we haven't experienced before, and DisneyQuest is one of those. Looking for info from those that have tried it.

1. Is it an all day sort of thing? I'm really into video games, DW not so much but she has some interest, and I know there are things to do beyond the typical arcade-type games.

2. If we wanted to leave for lunch somewhere around DTD, can we get back in or would we have to pay again?

Any other opinions are welcomed! Thanks.

We've been several times because my son is an arcade nut. It's definitely not an all day thing. Usually we stay a couple of hours until the noise and craziness drive me completely crazy, lol. I'm not sure if you can enter and re-enter since we've never done that. You can get food there at FoodQuest and a smaller snack area, but it's just standard CS food.

I agree that it's not an all day type of location, unless you really love video games and can play them for hours and hours on end (and you have a pair of really good ear plugs). As the PP mentioned, it's really loud inside DQ. It's so loud that I only spent about 30 minutes inside before I had enough and was ready to go (and I like video games!). Imagine being in a room with a hundred teenagers, add in lots of old-school pinball machines, and toss in a bowling alley for good measure...that's what it reminded me of! (Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but it was noisy!)

There is a little food court area at the top of the building. The noise is a little less bad up there, but it's still not remotely quiet.

As far as I know, you can exit and re-enter DisneyQuest on the same day as long as you still have your ticket.

We went this past october as it was now included in the Water Park Fun & More tickets. There are alot of fun activities there for sure. Is it a full day, possibly. Personally i wouldnt pay seperate for them, but its a nice break if included in other tickets. You can however go in an out as the tickets are a full day ticket admission.

It is most definitely an all-day destination (with a break for lunch) for my sons and my husband. In fact, we're only spending one day there on our upcoming trip and I expect to hear complaints that that isn't enough time.

If you are into video games and virtual reality games, you could spend many happy hours there. If not, then two or three hours is plenty. (I always get bored after a couple of hours.)

I never really get the people who talk about how noisy it is. Yes, there are rooms that are noisy, the ones that are full of arcade games. There are also rooms that are not noisy at all - like the seating area near the concessions. I've actually fallen asleep there more than once in the comfy chairs while my guys play games on other floors.

You do really need to be into video games to enjoy DisneyQuest. There are about 5 things to do that aren't just gamer things. They are really fun and need team work and we enjoy them thoroughly as a family. And even if you run into long lines, those 5 things will take you at most 2-2.5 hours.

You can go back in. My recommendation is to go right when it opens and do the popular things first. Then leave and go to lunch. Then she can shop and you can go back and do all the video games.

I have fun at DisneyQuest. But it is a lot of teenage boys being typical teenage boys. I've seen a fair amount of bored, and sometimes annoyed, wives and mothers sitting on the floors at DQ in early afternoon.

I haven't been to DQ since 1999 way before I had kids. We are planning in taking my boys 11 & 7 in august. We r planning on going a Monday evening after a day at the water park. How crowded will it be?

My husband and sons could easily spend all day or most of the day at DQ. I'm good for a few hours at most.

We have Premium Annual Passes and have always been able to come and go as we please. I'd assume day passes can do the same, but ask there to be sure.

When the Cheesecake Factory Express use to be inside DQ, we often went for dinner and play. But since it went out, we always leave to eat and come back.

I love it for a few hours, the noise gets to me. My DH, and teenage sons, and I spent 4 or 5 hours there. My husband and I spent three hours there last March. I love the virtual rides, and have never laughed so hard as when we did the jungle cruise!! If your wife doesn't want to stay, then maybe she could go shopping?

I haven't gone in a few years but one thing I learned is that the lines get very long for the buzz lightyear cyberblaster, the ride where you design your own roller coaster and then ride it and the pirates ride so it is better to go when they open and do those first. If everything is still the same, the rule is that when someone is waiting you can only play the game once and them it is the next persons turn. Otherwise you can stay at the game for as long as you want. The last few times we were there people weren't really following the rules and they just kept playing and playing and playing. but since we get to go free this year we are going. Also if you are old like me, they have many, many old games like space invaders and astroids which I prefer. I hate the "new" games.

They also have some things that are not video games, like shooting the basketball.

I wouldn't say it is an all day thing because after a while it does getting a little boring, plus you are mostly on your feet.
You can come and go all day as long as you have your ticket but you can always confirm that when you are exiting.

if you are a big gamer, it can well be an all day thing. It's a must do for my dd, but it's the last thing on earth i want to do (except for the Pirates and a couple of the other virtual reality things) - so i don't let her spend the whole day.

Thanks to all the PP's for the info!

Here's a bump in case someone else wants to comment.

One other thing, in terms of how crowded it gets in DQ, try not to go when the weather is bad. It can get crazy crowded in there when it's rainy out. The least crowded time is early in the day, and when the weather is nice. Weekday evenings are also less crowded than the weekends, but all are doable except when the weather is bad and gets insanely crowded.

DH and I just went the other day. We had free tickets as part of our vacation package. We both grew up with computers and video games and still play a fair amount. We are in our 40's. My first ever video game was Pac Man and my dad had a home computer in the late 70's when rarely anyone did.
So, that said, we had fun for the most part. We would not pay to go, but since it was free, we had fun. We arrived Saturday afternoon. It was crowded but if you walk around and see a free game you grab it and give it a try.
DH's favorite was a race game you sit and drive and race against 7 other people. I am proud to say that I came in first place against everyone else, even DH! I'm not usually that great at race games. I was the only woman driver that game and people in line cheered when I won. :)
They have a mix of old games and new games and a lot of those sit down types that cost a lot of money at an arcade. So fun to try those. Also Skee ball and basket ball and bowling. A few of the games didn't seem to be working. And some people just stayed on the same game forever and never left. We left after a game or two if people were waiting.
We were there for a few hours, then left the building to go eat dinner at Earl of Sandwich, then came back for another hour or so.
Overall, we had fun, it was an off park day for us. (we used our free coupon for mini golf that morning) But we wouldn't pay to go. There were so many people I don't think we would feel like we would get our money's worth. If you have a free coupon, it is worth checking out.

Is there a listing if things to do inside of Disney Quest? The games available? A map? Lol I am thinking of spending an afternoon there...

As someone who rarely doesn't find an hour or two each day to unwind infront of my PS3 or Xbox 360. I don't find it an all-day attraction, I don't even find it a must-do every try thing.

It's fun, they have some nice interactive experiences, but the graphics are clearly 10 years old, and that alone makes it less engaging to me.

Not to say I can't play the old 8-bit arcade games all day long but that is HOW THEY SHOULD LOOK.

For adults, I think it might also be an age thing. I grew up in the arcade heyday, so it was a complete throwback for me. We spent 5 hours there and it wasn't long enough for me (though DW had more than enough at that point).

Kids that love video games will get a full day out of it as well. Grown ups that missed the arcade 80s will probably not get anywhere near as much satisfaction other than a "Oh, that's sort of cool." from the old games and thinking about how much more powerful their PS4/XB One is than most of the other games.

It's loud and chaotic, but that's how arcades were and it was a little like time travel for me.

We just tried this for the first time last year and made sure to revisit again this year, as a park of our park hoppers and more tickets. We spend a few hours on arrival day, a few hours the evening after an Animal Kingdom day and a few more hours on departure day here. My kids (8 & 10) really enjoy it. They have spent most of their time on the 1st & 2nd floors. DS10 loves CyberSpace Mountain and they both enjoy the virtual Aladdin, Jungle Cruise & Pirates rides (ok, I may enjoy virtual Pirates too). My daughter likes the sound studios on the 2nd floor and I let her buy her song she wrote this year.....she wrote one last year and has been singing it from memory for the last 12 months. Both my daughter and I really enjoy the Animation Academy as well. My daughter prefers these drawing desks to those at DHS, and $5 for your drawing when your done is a nice, inexpensive souvenier.

We have spent a little bit of time on the other "arcade" floors, but no more than an hour or so each year. Haven't eaten at the cafe, but it seemed pretty quiet in their when we passed through.

My kids enjoy our time there and it will be on our list of things to enjoy when we return on our next trip.

If it is part of your package and you don't have to pay a nickel, then by all means, it's worth your time. However, if you are paying then it is really not worth it at all. It's $50 a pop for adults and $41 for kids. We had the 2 free tickets for adults, and I was shocked that my 6 YO was $41. She had a good time playing games and doing the other stuff, but in the couple hours, all I got was a good headache. I love video games, but the ones I wanted to play seemed to all be broken (Tron, Gyruss, Star Castle, etc.) Even the damn pinball machines I tried were either broken or crooked. The most fun I had was playing deal or no deal with my daughter, even though you don't win anything. Even the pirate ship thing was off because the glasses were blurry for the 3-D and didn't work right. If I had paid the $150 to get in here, I probably would have been mad, but for the average of $14, it was probably just right.

ps just don't buy any of the food there...that also kinda sucked except the cotton candy, which is awesome.
