DisneyQuest question

The plan is to spilt one day between Universal (Studios, not Islands of Adventure) and DisneyQuest. What time would you suggest leaving Universal to make DisneyQuest worth it?We will have to get a taxi to get to Universal so we can't go back if we finish DisneyQuest early or vice versa. I have been to both before and I plan on doing the majority of both. If DisneyQuest closes at 11, what time should we get there? How long would it take to get from Universal to Dowtown Disney?

We are not really into the regular arcade games but want to hit the virtual reality stuff. Also, what would you suggest we do for dinner that night? Get a snack at Universal and then a big meal at Downtown Disney or vice versa. Any recomendations?

This would be the second week of July, would the crowds at DisneyQuest be bad so late?

Sorry for all the questions; I basically asked about everything that could be asked.

I've never done this so I'll just bump this back to page one for you so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

My husband and I tried it out for the first time last May - we loved it and we don't even have any kids yet We went for about 3 hours at the end of the night with a small AP discount. We could have easily stayed for at least 4 hours. There is just so much to do and so much to see that you can keep busy for a very long time. We loved the Pirates virtual reality ride as well as the Cybercoaster ride where you build your own rollercoaster and then ride it - we didn't even imagine it would feel like you were actually on a rollercoaster - I even got a little woozy

Now, on to your other questions - I believe without traffic it is about 20-25 minutes from Universal to DT but you should plan on 30 or so just to be safe. . . I agree that you could grab a snack at Universal and perhaps make ressies at the Rainforest Cafe - the atmosphere, food and service is incredible - we cannot wait to eat there on our next trip.

As far as the crowds in July, I cannot be of much help but when we went in May, we thought the lines were quite long so I could assume that for most of the virtual reality rides, it may be a while but it is worth it. The longest line we stood in is the one for the cybercoaster - i think we spent 45 minutes at least waiting in line for our turn to create our rollercoaster and then another 30 or so waiting to ride our creation but all in all, it was also worth the wait.

I went last july to WDW. My DH and I spent several nights there. When we were there it ended up staying open until midnight. You can easily stay four or five hours. There's ton to do.

There's a restuarant on one of the floors inside DisneyQuest. We didn't eat there but we got drinks from there. My DH loves that place. He spent two nights there in Dec. when we were down there. It was more busy in July then in Dec so we prepare to wait for some of the popular games.
