Where will you and your future DH/DW be staying on your honeymoon? If you are already married then where did you and your DH/DW stay on your honeymoon?

My FI and I have never stayed on site and are trying to make a decision between CR and AKL. We love the overall look and style of the CR, but think that the AKL would be beautiful as well.

Also, what made you decide to stay at the place you chose?

We were going to stay at the Cont MK view, but DFi has decided he'd rather stay somewhere else. Since we're staying at Beach Club before the wedding I'm letting him have full choice on our honeymoon. (Although, I'd love to stay BC the entire time)

We're either going to stay WL Club level or AKL Club level. We may also rent DVC points to stay. When we go for our planning session next spring we're going to take an afternoon to explore a few of our options and make a final decision then.

We will be staying at the Boardwalk Inn, we absolutely fell in love with the place when we stayed recently in May. It has everything you need, luxury (but no stuffiness), entertainment, great restaurants, wonderful atmosphere and one of the best locations in Disney. The rooms were just remodeled and they are gorgeous, you can dance and hit the piano bar located on the "Boardwalk" and you can eat at the Flying Fish, ESPN Zone, etc. Also, the resort is located just a boat ride away from Hollywood Studios and Epcot. There is so much to do at the resort...you and your hubby will it enjoy immensely!!! We will also stay a couple of nights at the Grand Floridian as we have never stayed and would love to experience Disney's flag ship resort.

Hope this helps...:thumbsup2

We're getting married on DCL, so the nights prior we're staying at CSR, and afterwards GF, then OKW.

Our choices we mainly based on, "How do we get the most bang for our buck?” We were diligent in getting the best price when a new promotion came out. Renting DVC points is also a great way to save money.

Both CR and AKL have a lot to offer, I think you'll be happy in whatever you choose!

HTH :goodvibes

We're staying at 3 resorts on our Weddingmoon. From the 7th-13th we'll be at Coronado Springs, then from the 13th-15th we'll be at the Beach Club Villas and from the 15th-21st we'll be at the Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House.

Why not stay at both? Like other posters, we split our stay up. We started at Beach Club Villas (rented DVC points) for 5 days, moved to the Contemporary for the weekend, then spent 5 days at Animal Kingdom Lodge (DVC points) and finished with one night at the Grand Floridian.

I know to some it would seem like a hassle to pack and unpack that many times, but it really made our honeymoon feel soooo much longer because each resort was a whole new experience! We had a rental car, so it was easy to move, but Disney can transfer your luggage between resorts for you - you just have to allow a certain amount of time for it to show up again. :thumbsup2

My husband is starting out staying at Disney's Dolphin Resort. I rented DVC points (1st-time) for Animal Kingdom Villas. I was so afraid to do so, but after a little patience, an offer of points, everything aligned up for me at the right time and with the right individual who put this experience and me renting DVC points at ease. Awesome experience!

I too am breaking up my stay at 3 different resorts for our wedding/honeymoon. We are DVC members so before the wedding we are staying OKW and then our wedding night + 1 extra will be at GF and then for our final 8 days we will be at AKV.

We would have stayed all 14 nights at AKL, but since we were getting married at SBP, we decided to do a split stay between BW and AKL.

Now, BW is our 2nd fave after AKL!

I definitely say you should split your stay and as Lurkyloo says, it does make the trip seem longer and it's really nice to experience more than one resort!

Our disneymoon includes our kids, so probably some of our need will differ...
but here's what we're doing-

First week at AKL
Second week at OKW
Third week is split between disney's vero beach resort (need some ocean time!), and then coming back to Wilderness lodge for our last 3 nights.

I say you can't really go wrong with disney!! If we hadn't bought DVC and been doing this on points, we had planned to do the GF, mixed with another resort, like AKV or SSR. I have heard mixed reviews about the GF though. We've stayed at the Poly and LOVED the feel of that place- I think it'd be fantastic for a honeymoon!

Have fun deciding:)

Sorry- I was interrupted and forgot to add- f I were deciding between CR and AKL, here's how Id' pick-

If I wanted to be at MK (or the poly/GF area) a lot of my disneymoon, I would stay here.

If I wanted to feel like I was transported to another world, and be in my room a lot (which, if I didn't have kids, I think I'd say this!!), I'd pick AKL- it just looks so amazing!

But, you could just do a split stay and get the best of both worlds! I think that'd be your best bet. Maybe your first few days lounge around in romance at AKL, and then when you're ready to do lots of park stuff, switch! Or vice versa!

We stayed at CSR after our wedding and are staying at SSR for our official disneymoon in a few weeks. We too are splitting our stay, just not at Disney resorts. We are staring at Miami, then going on a cruise round the Bahama's, onto Naples and then finishing off in my fave place ion the world... Disney World!

I hadn't thought of suggesting to split stay. Or really explain our choices. (way too sleepy this week)

We were going to stay at the Cont because it's close to the MK and it's Disney's first resort, but since BLT DFi refuses to stay there (he doesn't like what Disney did with BLT)

He's a big fan of how WL looks and that it's a boat to Disney makes it seem like the middle of no where (which is the thing I dislike)
He's also a big fan of AKL because of the Savannah view. If we buy into DVC this will most likely be our home.

I may have to offer that idea to DFi. Staying AKL for 1/2 the week and WL the other half.

I like Beach Club because it's close to Epcot and Studios and as a Quick Service location and is close to the Boardwalk (if I need to check a baseball game one night) and has an awesome pool area.

We like BCV if the weather is going to be nice enough to enjoy the pool. We also like the close proximity to Epcot and the fireworks view... this way we can see them from our room with our two kids asleep in bed.

However I adore AKV... especially now that the Kidani waterpark is open. My kids adore that waterpark even more than Stormalong Bay at BCV... and I adore not having to clean sand out of every crevice as well. :rotfl:

We pretty much stay at AKV exclusively and always have a Savannah view. I also try and stay at the end of the hallway off the Uzima Savannah. This way we wake up to Giraffe's every morning... breakfast is served over here for them. ;) Room 5574/5572 (two bedroom - one bedroom & Studio) was our best morning wake ups. :D

We've also never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and generally it's less than 5 minutes. Most of our waits are when we're going to Downtown Disney. I am totally biased though because we own DVC at AKV. :lovestruc

We did a split stay last January (8 nights at BCV and 8 nights at AKV) and we'll be doing one this January (4 nights AKV, 5 nights AKV Concierge)... both those trips we only did split stays because we invited friends to come for the first half of the trip and a split stay was the only way to get DDP for only half the trip. I much prefer to unpack and stay in one place... preferably for at least two weeks. :rotfl2:

DFi and I have never stayed on property either and neither of us have been to Disney for a very long time. For our honeymoon we are renting points. We were in between AKV and BWV for where we wanted to stay.

We ended up decided on BWV with a BW view, it's just in such a central location and we wanted to maximize our time plus there is a lot to do right on the boardwalk. I suggested a split stay, but since we will only be there for 6 days neither of use wanted to spend the extra time having to move resorts.

Were doing the first week either in Coronado Springs or Port Orleans French Quarter and the night before the wedding and wedding night either in the Beach Club or Boardwalk Inn (were getting married at the Yacht Club Gazebo). A 4 day disney cruise and then either 4 nights renting dvc points for Bay Lake Tower or Animal Kingdom Savannah view.

I would just say go with whatever theme you like the most! Were not bothered about concierge level as we like to eat out and think its a big part of the holiday, and with online restaurant bookings the booking option isnt too important to us - but I do think it would be a lovely thing for your honeymoon!:goodvibes

we are splitting our stay..first 7 nights at BCV ( renting DVC points) i love the epcot area, i think there is so much to do there, and the proximity to epcot as well at dhs is great....the pool area looks amazing as well..the last 3 nights we are going to the GF simply because i have wanted to stay there since i first went to disney when i was 3

My wedding is on a Monday at the WP so we are staying at the GF Friday or Saturday until Tuesday and then we will be moving to a DVC resort (too soon to know which) and renting points from Tuesday to Saturday.

We're also staying here, there and everywhere!

We're staying at WL for 8 nights (except for GF the night before and the night of the wedding), offsite at Sheraton Four Points Orlando for 7 nights, 4 Night DCL Cruise and 3 Nights AKL. The Cruise and AKL is when we'll be on our own after our families leave so I'm looking forward to the 3rd week!

I'd love to stay at BLT though!

We stayed 3 nights at CR with a MK view and then moved over to BWI the day before the wedding and stayed another 5 nights in the Garden Suites. Love the Garden Suites, very romantic, huge and private.
