OKay, my wedding is only 3 1/2 months away, and I can honestly say that DF and I have procrastinated on our honeymoon, mostly because of money. But now it we have to make a decision. We have already booked 3 nights at the Ritz in Naples(they have a really good deal right now) right after our MK photo session. But then we're picking my 3 yr old son up from my parents and want to stay at Disney some more. Availability is slim because it will be summertime. We're looking at Boardwalk Inn, Saratoga Springs, and Coronado Springs. Do any of you have suggestions or preferences? I don't like Coronado as much, but its cheaper. Help please!

If you were going with a moderate I would pick Port Orleans. Just like that it there much more. I would think the Boardwalk would be fun because of all the things you can do right there.

Unfortunatley I think it's all personal preference. We did a visit to Coronado this fall and loved it. There aren't a lot of kids but the pool area is really cool and the bus service is excellent for a moderate. It's the only mod with a hot tub and waterslide from what i understand. We thought it was a really good place for the price. I myself have never liked the boardwalk. Just seems like too much shopping, etc and not enough resort area for relaxing and all.

For my honeymoon, we are picking the BW, i know its a bit more pricey but we love the nightlife there! Jellyrolls and the EPSN zone are some of our favorite night spots and unlike pleasure island you dont have to pay extra to get into the BW. I also like the convience of walking to epcot and mgm. But as everyone has said its a personal choice. princess:

DF and I are staying at POFQ. We chose this resort because:

a. we're on a budget but wanted at least a moderate
b. the layout of POFQ is the smallest of the mods, which makes all rooms convenient to everything.
c. surroundings are supposed to be incredibly lush and beautiful
d. lots of people say one of the most romantic walks at WDW is the walk between POFQ and POR

Hope this helps, and hope your disneymoon is fabulous. Oh, and also, POFQ is supposed to have a great pool for little ones, it has a dragon slide that looks really cute!

Thanks for your help. This is still a struggle for DF and myself, because we can't seem to agree 100%. He's called his dad, I called my mom, and we all have different opinions. DF and I both worked for Disney years ago, and we each have places that we like and dislike for whatever reason. Is this supposed to be a difficult decision?

If you are planning to do a moderate check out Port Orleans French Quarter. Amazing.. I love it there..

Of the choices you mentioned, I would definitely pick the BW. Mainly b/c it's within walking distance/boat ride of Epcot WS and MGM. The proximity to those parks is worth the extra $ to me. There's ton to do in the BW area, and it's just a beautiful resort. If you want a character breakfast you could walk over to the BC and eat at Cape May Cafe. Good luck :) I'm sure whatever you choose will work out great!

we wanted to stay at AKL but the prices for 2008 have just gone on sale here with one of our tour operators and its too expensive to asks our guest to stay so we are now lookng at POFQ, having never seen the resort I'm a bit worried about it.

We have only ever stayed at all stars so its bound to be better but our family and friends have never been to disney so wanted to give them a deluxe resort really but its working out way too much

um, no, that's not true.....CSR is NOT the only mod. resort with a hot tub or waterslide. They all have both. Anyway, I'm honeymooning at AKL in June, stayed there before and it is a lovely place! If your looking for a financially comfortable resort, FQ or Riverside would work. Both are beautiful places.

DH and I spent our honeymoon at CSR in December 06 and loved it!! We were in the Cabanas section (I think 8B) facing the lagoon. It was so beautiful. We had an amazing sunset every evening. Although that's the one and only time we've ever been to the World...I'd recommend it to anyone!

:confused3 Sorry - guess I got my CSR facts wrong. Now that I'm thinking hard I believe they said it had the largest hot tub. I know they said there were things that it had that no other mod had - maybe the room service and fridges in each room, but obviously my memory is less than stellar on CSR, so best to look at the resorts board for more details.

We finally booked our room last night. We've decided to stay at Caribbean Beach because we won't get to make it to Jamaica for our honeymoon. I wanted something tropical and neither one of us had ever stayed there before. I hope its nice.

My husband and I spent the first night in DW at PORS and we loved it. It was not as fancy as the deluxe hotels however it was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We decided on staying at a moderate hotel because we knew the only time we would be in the room was going to be in the evening and it was not worth paying double the price for a deluxe room. Good Luck in your planning and congratulations!

BTW..The ritz in Naples is gorgeous the beach is stunning! The was this little beach bar grab a cocktail and watch the sunset...amazing! I have some pics from my trip there in NOV if you want I can find them.

In terms of disney- if you are going to go mod do POFq. For delux- I say Boardwalk (not that I am biased...I am having my reception there and staying there;) )

ok totally OT but thought you may want to ee these....
