Hi, Everyone! I am getting excited about our Honeymoon at the Poly (only 17 days left!), and I was wondering what, if any, perks couples have recieved during their WDW Honeymoons? Upgrades, special treatment, pixie dust moments... Anything to get us more excited about our trip. Thanks in advance!

a bit of advice: dont go expecting anything, then you wont get disappointed if you dont get anything. we got a nice few surprises but ive heard of some people not getting anything. wear the ears, get the badges from guest services and enjoy being on honeymoon with the love of your life. if anything nice happens, it'll be a bonus!

Absolutely! I am just looking forward to the magic of Disney once again, and if our trip goes as planned and nothing extra happens, I'll still be grinning from ear to ear for months to come (until I start planning the next trip ;) ). But It's always nice to hear the stories of what Disney has made happen through the use of mountains of pixie dust!

exactly! just being in WDW makes me happy. but some people go expecting free stuff then come back and moan that they didnt get any!
things we got included free dessert at sci fi dine in, own log in splash mountain, a couple of free fastpasses, a magical moments certificate from the lady in the pet shop at downtown disney, decorated cupcakes at chef mickeys, mickey confetti heart on the table at crystal palace, free sweeties at mgm, the lady checking us in at POR searched all the available rooms to find us the one with the best view (the team there were great, we gave them the top layer of our wedding cake as a thank you). we got a couple of pressies the morning of our wedding too.
have a great time, you'll have the best time anyway cos its your honeymoon, any perks you may get will be a bonus! if you dont post beforehand, have a great wedding, hope it goes perfect for you, and enjoy your honeymoon!!!

Strictly speaking as a chicken  ....did having your own log on Splash Mountain effect the drop speed at the end of the ride?

We had an awsome Disneymoon last July! I couldn't believe all the magical things that happened to us. Like everyone else has mentioned, we did not go expecting to get the VIP treatment - we were just excited to be on our Disneymoon together! That alone was magical enough for us!

Here are a few of the things that we got to enjoy on our Disneymoon:

-We were given a 'Just Married' balloon when we checked in at POP, that had a little Mickey balloon weight attached to it.
-Free preferred 60s section upgrade at POP
-Mousekeeping (I guess it was Mousekeeping) left us a bouquet of Disney Princess Suckers and a card, along with our towel zoo, on the table in the room.
-I can't even count the number of 'active' FASTPASSES that CMs just handed to us during the week - I guess they were giving us FASTPASSES that people had already turned in.
-Front of the Line passes for Test Track and Mission: Space, and a CM gave us a little card that had Test Track trivia and info on it. He said it was given out on the opening day of TT.
-Free ice cream (we actually had to start refusing the free ice cream at one point, because we were on the dining plan and needed to use our snack credits!)
-Priority seating tickets for Fantasmic! (Thanks to the manager at Mama Melrose's!-It was a really good area!), and also great seats at Tarzan Rocks, Indiana Jones (we also got to be 'extras' in the show!). CMs would just pull us down to the front and center seats!
-We also got the center window seat at Cinderella's Royal Table (wonderful view of Fantasyland!), and the table was sprinkled with Mickey confetti. At Cinderella's Royal Table, our waiter also gave us a set of Cinderella's Royal Table champagne glasses
-Window seats at dinner at Chef Mickey's - with a wonderful view of the castle! We were also given 'It's My Special Day' placemats. And the waitress sang 'Happy Wedding' to us. It was histerical!
-We were given several 'Congratulations!' cards at different places we ate at during the week - Boma, Cinderella's, Chef Mickey's
-We got to ride up front on the monorail several times
-When we picked up our free Magical Wishes button at Downtown Disney (that another CM at Goofy's Candy Co. told us about), the CM there also let us listen to a special congratulations message from Mickey and Minnie!
-Lucky the Dinosaur stopped to talk to us! It was so cool! We're not sure if it was our ears, or just random. We got this on video - I still can not believe it! DH loves dinosaurs, and we had one stop and visit with us on our Disneymoon! :teeth:
-At several of the indoor theater attractions, the CM would come up to us and ask our names, then they would announce our marriage over the loud speakers! I know this happened at It's Tough to be a Bug, Muppets, Philharmagic, and a couple of others.
-We were given our own boat on Maelstrom, El Rio del Tiempo, Small World, and Pirates of the Caribbean-this was so romantic!
-Many of the characters in the parades would wave at us and give us the thumbs up or point to their ring fingers. The Fairy Godmother did this right when she was talking about true love. Plus many other characters would make a big deal out of our ears! It was so cute!
-TONS of guests and CMs told us 'Congratulations', and many guests would offer us their seats on the bus, or on the boats or whatnot.

Overall it was a totally magical experience. We really felt like VIPs the whole week. We wore our Bride and Groom ears the whole time. That was just something I had always wanted to do since I was in middle school and found out about the ears. Neither one of us expected to get all that extra attention! Of course, now DH wants to know if we can 'reuse' our ears. :teeth:

Nothing! :sad2:

I know...sad, right?

We got a "Congrats!" from other guests and some CM's, but that was it.

Oh, and when we were on Big Thunder Mountail Railroad the CM announced that we had just gotten married and everyone clapped on our train.

We did get a free wedding pin from some nice CMs at the Poly!

I wasn't expecting any thing, but then I found out what other brides have gotten when I got back...I was a bit dissappointed. :guilty:

We even had our ears on when checking into Poly and none of the CMs said a word to us! Thought that was odd...

Superb, think id have the same trouble with my df. Hes funny enough when we go on Big Thunder Mountain so dragging him on Splash Mountain should be a laugh a second.

When we finally go out to Wdw for our wedding although we will be kitted out in the pins, wedding t shirts & ears i don't think either of us will be expecting to get any free stuff or get any attention. Of course it ll be a lovely bonus if we do but at the end of the day we re there to celebrate getting married. If people congratulate us whilst we re enjoying being newlie weds then that ll just add to the Disney magic.

yeah gary's a chicken too!!!! :rotfl:

Pick up the pin at town hall in the Magic Kingdom, or get it at whatever park you go to first. We didn't get anything because we didn't get the pin.

We were upgraded from a standard room to a water view at the Yacht Club.
We got lots of congratulations on the wedding day from guests, and one from a CM in the MK, but other than that it was quiet. It's just luck I am afraid.
Dont be disappointed if you dont get any freebies, just to have your wedding there is the best bonus you can ever imagine.

Let's see. When we checked into Pop they asked where I'd like to stay and all I requested was non-smoking on the 1st floor (John ALWAYS complains that we're on some high floor. Lol). They gave us that, plus a view of the lake. It was really nice.
We went to Boma and were given a card and after the meal they brought out this square platter with "Happy Honeymoon" written in chocolate, with Mickey Head sprinkles and a bunch of cookies and truffles! Yummy!!
In our hotel we were given 3 balloons with the Mickey head anchor and a card with a signed picture (and our names, lol) of Mickey and Minnie.
At MK we were given a thing for a free ice cream for each of us and got a boat in Pirates all to ourselves.
At MGM we were each given a chocolate covered marshmallow (yummy!!!), and a free dessert "on the Mouse" at Sci-Fi. Then when we were walking in to see Beauty and the Beast the cast member at the little gate area stops me and says, "Stay right there!". I thought I'd done something wrong and wouldn't let John leave me. :lmao: She came back with a red rose (fake, but really pretty!) and a little card that says VIP seating. She said to give it to the cast member at the bottom of the stairs. We went down there and she let me keep both and sat us in PERFECT seats. Of course I'd left my camera in the car because "why would I need it tonight?"
Then of course everywhere we went we got tons and tons of congrats. It was soooo nice!
OH!! And the guys that sing on Main Street...they sang a song to us. It was sooo funny and I wish I'd gotten it on video. And the guy who plays the piano next to the hot dog place - he started played the Wedding March as we went by!
Um...we wore the hat and we got both pins (the wedding one and the Magical Memories one). I didn't even know about the second, but when we went into MGM a security guard started chatting with us and asked if we had the wedding pin, we said yes and so he asked if we had the other. When we said no, he ran and got one for us.
Oh - we also got the front of a log on Splash...and got soaked. And we rode in the front of the monorail a few times. But that's because there was No crowd and we asked (monorail). Lol.

I don't care if we get freebies. Would be nice but having our wedding and honeymoon there is a dream come true for me. I'm marrying the love of my life too. hehe :bride::groom:

We didn't get anything special. Couldn't even get a king size bed at WL like we requested (it actually worked out better since we used the second bed to hold all our wedding stuff and my MOH stayed with me the night before the ceremony). But, we didn't advertise that it was our wedding/honeymoon either. DH refused to wear the ears or a button, he doens't like attention, and that was fine with me. We got a lot of congratulations from resort guests and CMs while we were walking around in our wedding attire, but nothing major. We did have one funny thing - at our day-after brunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL our server commented on our large group of 13 and my MIL told her we had gotten married there the day before. So, she called up us, a newly engaged couple, and a couple celebrating their 10-year anniversary and put us in kissing and dance contest! It was hilarious :rotfl: and we won :yay: Even on our honeymoon cruise we didn't want to make a big deal of it being our honeymoon. Our server at dinner one night asked if it was our honeymoon (I guess he could tell) and we said yes, but to please keep it a secret. It was still magical - getting married and spending the first few days of our married life together at Disney was fantastic :lovestruc

That is so awesome that you asked that question. Our Disneymoon is the exact same days as yours. oct 9-15. We are staying at POR. I was wondering the same things. Do you know where to get the Bride and Groom ears

pirate,

you can get the ears at a few places, if you are staying at a disney hotel you can call the disney florist and have them in your room when you get there. I got them at the magic kingdom. I only wore ours a day and a half but still received so many perks from the buttons. One thing to note is that when i was walking throughout disney for about 10 days there was so many brides and grooms looked so so so unhappy, i think there was maybe one happy couple other than us. Keep a smile on your face and enjoy your honeymoon :) congrats and best wishes

Kim

I am getting SO excited!!! Ours is in November!!!! This thread is awesome because it made me even more excited! :Pinkbounc

I was not disappointed as I was only there for 2 days. I got married at the courthouse and went to WDW for 3 days. I wore my ears. I got an upgrade at the hotel (I told them in advance that we would be newlyweds). We stayed at the Yacht Club, and had a view of the Wedding Gazebo, when we paid for the cheap Florida Residents standard. Oh and the bed was a Cali KIng!!! We also rode backseat to ourselves - Pirates. And the Fairy Godmother in the castle embarrassed my husband by asking him what our anniversary now is (as soon as we left the courthouse we went to Orlando for dinner at the castle), they also gave us the Cinderella Round Table Champagne Flutes (when we have our WDW wedding next year, those will be our flutes!). But that was it. I couldnt ask for more. Especially since we'll be back soon for our real weeklong honeymoon!!! But really, if your not expecting it, and it's a surprise, you'll find it special, expecting things ruins the joy of it, and can dissapoint you. I mean I knew they will upgrade your room on occassions, but I did not know I would get that much of an upgrade. It was the highlight to our trip!! It made our trip that much better!!

I forgot - we did get a card signed by Mickey and Minnie, with a picture of them all dressed up, with balloons, a Mickey head balloon weight, and chocolates with Wilderness Lodge decor on them delivered to our room the night before our wedding. It was funny because he and I were hanging out in the WL lobby and my MOH was in the room (she stayed with me the night before) and so she took delivery and apparently the CM who brought them thought we were on our honeymoon and gave her a strange look that she was in the room. I still have the chocolates in my fridge, almost one year later (along with a chocolate favor from our wedding - DH and I are not big chocolate eaters)
