Has anyone stayed in either the Grand Californian, Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier using points? Do our points equal a standard room?

Any reviews/suggestions would be appreciated!

Have a great weekend:sunny:

standard view rooms are:
Sun-Thurs 29 or 36pts
Fri-Sat 52 or65 pts.

This is from the book they just sent me to decide whether or not to purchase.

Sorry...those points were for Grand Calif.

Disneyland hotel is a bit cheaper 25-54 pts
Paradise Pier ranges from 21-47 pts.

Depending on when you go, there are often some very good cash rates, especially with AP's from Disneyland (which are cheaper than WDW's).

I do recommend the Grand Californian. It is most like the WDW resorts, as the other two were not built by Disney. They were "Disneyfied" after the fact. GC is also very convenient with a private entrance into DCA, short walking distance to DL and another entrance to DD.

Point requirements range from a low of 21 pts/night to a high of 117 pts/night.

At GC there are 5 views: Standard, DD, CA, Concierge-Garden, Concierge-CA

At DL hotel: Standard, Resort/Pool-lower level, Resort/Pool-upper level, concierge-Pool, Concierge -CA view

At PP hotel: Standard, CA-lower level, CA-upper level, Concierge-City/Pool, concierge-CA view.

There are 2-seasons: For 2004 they are:....

Value= Jan 6-Mar 28, Apr 18 - Jul 1, Aug 29 - Nov 21, Nov 28 - Dec 23.

All other dates are in Peak Season.

All hotels, Sun-Thurs points are less than Fri/Sat points.

Key Code: GC=Grand Californian, DL = Disneyland Hotel, PP=Paradise Pier Hotel, DD=Downtown Disney, CA=California Adventure view.

lowest point cost is 21 points/night at PP, Value Season, Sun-Thurs

Highest point cost is 117 points/night at GC, conciege CA view, Fri/Sat, Peak Season.

For GC the points, in value season, Sun-Thurs for the 5 room categories are: 29,33,35,50,52

GC, Value season, Fri/Sat: 52,59,63,90,04

GC, Peak Season, Sun-Thurs: 36,41,43,61,65

GC, Peak Season, Fri/Sat: 65,74,77,110,117

Points for 2005 are not yet published. Based on past history there's a good chance they'll go up.

I would think they would go up for 2005 as well. Disneyland will be having a 50 year celebration for the year 2005. I am sure they will have new parades, etc. Visiting in 2005 might be really fun!

We have stayed @ the Dineyland Hotel (not on points) nothing fancy, but it was nice compared to the surrounding hotels in that area. The Paradise Pier is a little far away for my taste. The Grand Californian is BEAUTIFUL! The hotel is located in the California Adventure Park. It is new and very mission style. If I were to stay on points I would pick the GC. I think for a few extra points it is worth it. CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!!!Good luck on your decision!

We stayed at the Grand Californian last June for 3 nights using points and it was great! It is a beautiful hotel, the room was spacious (2 queen beds) and very close to the parks. Our room was overlooking downtown Disney.
