Hey everyone,
It’s been 5 years since I’ve been to DLR. I’ve been to WDW twice in the past 5 years though. My family would consist of myself, wife, 3 kids, 14,7 and 2. Were coming from AZ during their spring break. I’m thinking flying in Sat then DLR from Sunday March 10th through Tuesday flying back Wednesday. So 3 full days. Do you guys think it’s worth it. I’ve read there are some closures. I also like DCA but with also read the pier is under a face lift. Just wanted to get some thoughts about it all. Thanks

"Worth it" is about as subjective as you can get. Are you able to go in the summer instead? If that is the case then I'd wait. If you are heading to the area anywhere then I'd for sure spend a few days at DLR. Yes, it's not in great shape right now, boarded up with walls everywhere, but you might have a great time, hard to tell.

This has been discussed quite a bit lately in the following thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/first-week-of-paradise-pier-and-main-street-closures.3657361/

It’s pretty subjective isn’t it. Lol. I also would think that our spring break wouldn’t coincide with the spring break over there. I have a lot of family nearby. Hoping maybe the crowds are not as crazy especially during the week?

I would not expect crowds to be low if you are going on your spring break as that means a lot of people are going then as well - hours for the week after March 10th are 8AM-Mignight even mid week which means Disney expects there to be weekend like crowd levels.

Yes, definitely worth it. Even with the pier closures at DCA...especially if you haven't been to DCA before. Hello Guardians and Carsland!

I'd wait until July. Lower crowds than spring break. They're spread over three months rather than one.

For me and my family, any time to visit Disneyland is worth it. With that said, I would wait until summer when more of the parks are open. Plus, I would go for at least 5 days. Since you are going from AZ, I would even get an annual pass and go quite a few times. :)

If you have the option of waiting until summer that is what I would do. The walls and all the closures are a bit of a bummer right now. However, if it's early March or not coming at all, I would say definitely come but just have your expectations in check, especially when it comes to crowds. It will more than likely be crowded. Also, I don't think you will get any fireworks, or daytime parades, but Fantasmic will run nightly in DL and WOC will run nightly in DCA.

We were there in mid-January and going again for a couple days in April from Seattle. We had a fantastic time in January even with the construction and the closures. There is still tons to do. That said if there are certain rides that are a must for you and they are closed then maybe it's a deal breaker for you. I don't ever want to go if Pirates is closed down...it's just a must do for me.

Personally I think it's what you make it. We were able to get in a lot of character meets this time which was a first for us and extremely enjoyable.
