We are planning on stopping at DL for 2 days in Mid-late June as a surprise for my nephews. I've been there once, a long time (20 years ago), and we are WDW vets, since their parents own DVC points, and we take family vacations there every year or 2.

We are driving in, and will have our 2 travel-savvy dogs with us. I know we can board them for the day at the gate kennels, and I've been checking on hotels. We need a suite due to having 5 people traveling.

Has anyone actually stayed at any of the hotels with pets, or used the kennels? Any advice? The dogs are a pomeranian and a shepherd mix. This is their 4th or 4th cross country trip, but they've never been to Disneyland before :rotfl:

lol well i wish i knew but i thought some where i had read that disney hotles had a place but im not sure. I dont have a dog an my cat wouldnt come on a trip with us even if we wanted him too.

I have a cat, so taking her to DL with me was not an option. I put her up in a 'kitty condo' (read kitty kennel). I did *a lot* of research before the trip because I wanted to be sure that my kitty was going to be well taken care of and not abused in any way. So it took several phone calls to a few different places until I found one that I was comfortable with. I dropped her off the day before we left (since we had an early morning flight) and they were totally okay with me calling in to check on how she was doing, and they had my number (god forbid) if anything happened with her (but thankfully she was fine). We were gone for 10 days (so she was in the kitty condo for 11).

We spent 3 days in San Diego to visit grandparents, then 7 days at Disney. I called about ever 2 or 3 days to make sure she was doing fine. By the time we got back, we went to pick her up, and she was meowing up a storm inside her little kitty carrier, and as soon as we got home and I let her out she was *so* angry with me... she'd swish her tail and ring her little bell on her collar at me, snubbing her nose at me. As if she were saying 'How *dare* you put me in that kitty condo! You left me all alone! I hate you!' (like a melodramatic preteen girl). But after a week, she loved me again and the kitty condo was forgotten. lol.

There is a pet hotel in Garden Grove, Ca. which is right next door to Anaheim. The rates are reasonable, and the facility from what I have seen on line, and have read about, looks to be very nice. You might want to research it. The exact name escapes me at the moment, but I do have it bookmarked somewhere. A good search engine should find it for you as well.

Have a really awesome time!
