Just found out I'm pregnant. We're taking the two kids, ages 3 and 8, to Cali to visit and plan on Disney and the other theme parks in the area. Anyone visit when pregnant? Tips? Thanks!

Congratulations!!!!

Heck...I was in labor with my second son at DL. I had him the next morning.

Anyway, just keep yourself hydrated as you know. We went to WDW when I was 4 months pregnant with #1 and I started to swell up. Since you just found out, you probably are much more mobile than I was at WDW. I was able to ride quite of bit of rides during 1st trimester including POTC. That attraction does not limit pregnant women at either DL or WDW. I would stay away from all the coasters and anything that spins - but that was just me. As far as the other theme parks...count Magic Mountain out and Knott's is ok but you won't be able to go on most rides as well. The zoos and Sea World are fine but just remember keep hydrated and pace yourself. I was able to do anything while pregnant with #1/2 but when I was pregnant with #3, all my muscles seemed to give out and cramp on me no matter what and that was while I was 2 months. Assuming you are coming here during the summer, it can get hot in DL and humid. Don't know what the summer holds for us here but last year was quite awful with 100+ on many days.

I went to DL while pregnant with my first son in '94. I was only like 6 weeks along but well into the nauseous/dizzy stage. We were taking my mom's cousins who were visiting from France so the focus of the trip was showing them around and doing what they wanted to do. It turned out my dad was recovering from a mild heart attack at the time so I hung out with him on benches a lot! I think the "wildest" ride we did was Pirates. We skipped Star Tours and all the coasters. We went in November so heat wasn't an issue.

I've been to DL enough times that I didn't feel like I was missing anything. The little guy who went in my tummy is almost 12 and is about to go for his 4th time this August, along with his 8 year old brother.

Early pregnancy shouldn't be much of a problem. I wouldn't go on anything with a safety bar or seat belt across the stomach. Just be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks when you need them. Don't be afraid to send Dad on a ride with the kids so you can sit down and put your feet up for awhile. Have fun!:)

If you need to, rent an electric cart, to save on the walking . . . and like the previous posters said, stay hydrated!
