Looks like the holidays at the resort are in full effect. It was a 15 min wait just to park at 1pm. I think since it was the first day without rain, everyone jumped on board the disney train. good luck those going within the next few days!

LOL we must have been arriving at the same time. Waited 15-20 minutes just to get in to Mickey and Friends structure at about 1:30pm. It was just plain crowded everywhere. The shops on Main Street resembled any major dept store a week before Christmas. The CMs in all the shops were just fabulous, keeping all of us moving through!

Even the flag retreat ceremony was crowded. (I have pics I'll upload later, including pre-parade crowds on Main Street.)

We are headed over there in just a few minutes - I'm glad we have 2 weeks to come and go as we want if the crowds are too much!

I had planned to go this past Wed and debated changing my visit day to Thurs or Fri due to the wind/rain/cold but stuck with my guns and went on Wed! Weather was bad but crowds were light!!

Maybe Dl needs to expand their park. Wait a minute, that will probably just increase the crowd level more.

i'm not complaining! I've been to disneyland enough with the crowds to know how to deal with them. I just don't think Disney was expecting the big crowds, they only had 1 side of Screamin open, with a 60 min wait!

We were at DCA and DL from about 5:30pm to 10pm. We had the opposite experience. California Screamin' was the shortest line I've EVER seen (5 minute wait). Virtually walked on Pirates and BTMRR. HM line looked short (15 minutes). Indiana Jones was only 20 minutes at 9:30pm. It was chilly, but had a great time! Perhaps there were many more people in Tomorrowland.

I thought about going on Thursday night since it was our last chance to go for the holidays (due to AP block out days) but decided it was too cold. Plus we went on Friday, the 12th which was also very crowded (due to it being last Friday most AP could go?). I'm sure the reason Thursday was crowded was due to alot of AP holders going for their last look. :santa: Briefly thought about going on Wed. night (not as crowded as Thurs? but since we were expecting freezing levels here at home, decided DLR would just be too cold and what if we missed snow at home-we didn't but it came close)

From the sounds of it I'm glad we skipped it even though I really wanted to experience the decorations one more time. I'm still debating about upgrading to the next AP level so we can at least go on Sunday, Jan. 4th (our current AP are blocked out until Jan 5th).

I was there and the crowds were crazy. We had been there since sunday so it was almost comical to watch from the train and see everyone smooshed together to watch fantasmic. We went to watch the second showing of fantasmic hoping the crowds would be lighter. After the show ended we were walking in the crowd over to Fantasmic and I saw a guy barelling right towards everyone. I luckily pushed my niece out of the way and he RAMMED into me HARD. I was shocked and said "geez". The next thing I know he looks at me, sees I am a girl (28), and proceeds to take both of his arms and shove me with all his might. I was able to keep from falling and he took off running to the train station. Some people around gasped and commented that he was drunk. I wish I would have reacted differently and went up to the train station and point him out to an employee although I don't really know what they would be able to do about it. I was in shock. I laugh about it now because it was so ridiculous but geez thank goodness it was me and not a child

A 60 minute wait........ :faint:

I am very sorry that you had to experience that most unsettling, awkward and extremely rude incident. It was bad enough that he bumped into you with much force, and without apology. But for him to then proceed to stop take a look at you, then decided to forcibly by taking both of his hands and shove you about with so much force, that you almost fell to the ground is actually a crime. Not only were those latter actions extremely uncalled for, and rude and showed such a poor lack of consideration for the safety of others, that his behavior in this case, was such that he should have been reported to security. You have witness's, and probably bruises as well, to go to show toward as evidence. Furthermore, although unintentional harmful contact is not battery, physical contact that is intended to harm someone is. When he came running toward you, it can be seen as simply a matter of an accident. Even though it be a matter of being very rude, discourteous and extremely careless. But when he behaved the way he had in the latter case, that is battery and if you felt immediately threatened by his behavior then it is assault and battery. Very much crimes in the State of California!
I am extremely outraged and very disturbed, by this individuals behavior and demeanor. In my opinion, you should still report this individual to Dl security. No telling what else may have occurred that day, or perhaps on another, by this individual.

I hope very much that you will be able to enjoy your next visit to Disneyland, and to be able to do so, without any negative experiences of this, nor of any other nature. You just have a wonderful and magical time, to which is Disney!

I just wanted to clarify something, from my previous post. When this individual came "barreling toward you" if he was running, the running was not unintentional, and it is one of Disneyland's rules, not to run, no matter what one's age. The part where he bumped into you, that is what can be seen as unintentional. However, what is interesting, is that common sense should tell one, that if I am running, and not paying attention, I may cause harm to another. This is where I believe it goes to show a case of assault as well. For if one feels threatened by another's physical actions, be it a matter of one being moments away from being knocked down, or hitting someone, this is assault.
If I could speak to this person, I would ask him what his intent was regarding his behavior that day, when he went running into a large group of people, without showing any apparent discretion. If the intent was to harm people, then it is battery.

I have to agree with the that last post we were there last weekend and all I can say that the lots of people were extreamly rude!! Pushing, shoving, and not saying one word to you which was quite disapoiniting ,it kinda ruined our trip a little bit for us. I will probably never go back in a weekend in December :sad1:

I agree with gisele...you should have followed him and reported his assault!! Either that or kick him in the goods. People like that do not deserve to be at DL and I surely do not want them around. I would have made a huge deal over it. Had he just walked by and bumped my shoulder hard, hey it's a crowd and people get rude...but to push you again...not cool. I am sure disney wouldn't want him in their park either. Sorry it happened and glad you are okay. I just wish I could give him a good swift kick for you!

Either that or kick him in the goods by Krissy Marissy

That is a good one! I like that, it is funny! he he! It is also a very effective means to getting a rude man's attention, to say the least. It would of course be a matter of self-defense.

10stime very negative experience also makes me think of this. What if the guest was not 28, but 82? If that elderly guest had assault and battery committed upon his person, and he or she fell down and broke a hip, or had ended up with a concussion, that could have had serious repercussions.
For example, I have learned of many incidents, where an elderly person falls down, breaks their hip and within several months, due to complications, etc. they die. What if that scenario had happened instead? Then the offending guest would have had even more serious charges against him, I like to think. I am figuring it would be assault, battery, and at least involuntary manslaughter. I am not a law student, nor an attorney, however based upon what I do know regarding the law, this is how I see it.

Regarding 10stime experience that was stated previously. No matter one's age, a person of course of any age, can be pushed down to the ground, receive a concussion, etc. and die as a result. The very young, the ill, the infirmed and the elderly that are at the greatest risk of injury.

Legal definition of Involuntary manslaughter:

MANSLAUGHTER, INVOLUNTARY - In order for a person to be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter the government must prove that someone was killed as a result of an act by the person;

Second, in the circumstances existing at the time, the person's act either was by its nature dangerous to human life or was done with reckless disregard for human life; and

Third, the person either knew that such conduct was a threat to the lives of others or knew of circumstances that would reasonably cause the person to foresee that such conduct might be a threat to the lives of others.

Regarding the first stance: Yes Regarding the hypothetical death of an 82 year old human being, regarding this not completely hypothetical incident.

Regarding the second stance: Yes.

Regarding the third stance: Yes.

Any lawyers out there? If I am incorrect to any degree, please let me know.

Thank you

Yeah I agree I wish I would have done something but I think I was in such shock that it had happend. Plus I had my niece and nephew so it's not like I could have taken off running through the crazy crowds to follow the nutball. Once I got in line for the Haunted Mansion and had a second to think I wished I would have gone toward the train station in hopes that I could have pointed him out to a CM. Hopefully karma will kick him in the butt :) I did consider it assault Giselle, in fact when we were in line for the ride I said wow I was just assaulted in Disneyland to my nephew. It's definetely not something you consider will happen to you in the happiest place on earth. I did not let it ruin the trip though, we had a great time with great memories other than that one incident!

What part of Oregon are you from? I'm in portland :) Anyway...I guess it must have been just a shock that something like that happened in DL. It's a place where we all hope to never encounter such a rude person. It is easy for me to say that I would have followed because I would be around other adults...if I was alone with my kids I probably would not have. Glad your trip was still a good one and hope the next one is even better! :goodvibes

Hi Krissy Marissy, I was out in Fairview Village (between Troutdale and Gresham) but I recently moved up to Salmon Creek WA but I will be moving back over the bridge soon! How about you? Yeah with so many people around it would have been nice for a little help but the only response it got was gasps and one comment that the guy was wasted. The rest of the trip was so much fun thank you!

I live in portland, just on the border of gresham. I did live in beaverton but moved back to the eastside. Missed that east wind lol
