Wow, they aired it in the middle of the newscast, not the end!
It was pretty basic stuff. They noted that if you're going to
Disneyland over Spring Break, you're not alone--"It's almost like a pilgrimage for a lot of people." Assuming you already knew the basic tips like "Wear comfortable shoes, lots of sunscreen...", they plunged into the stuff that not everyone knows (believe it or not

).
*"Get here early"
*Buy your tickets online at
www.disney.com (such as the e-Ticket so you can print it out and take it right to the main gate)
*Main Street usually opens a half hour before the rest of the park. (The guy from Disney suggested buying some coffee and a muffin from the Blue Ribbon Bakery...and here I thought they let people in early out of the goodness of their hearts.

)
They posed the question "What's a Fastpass?" and the guy from Disney explained it, kind of vaguely. I'm not certain that anyone who wasn't already familiar with the concept would understand what they were talking about.
The reporter actually noted "Now, you're only supposed to have one Fastpass at a time"...but "after two hours you can get a second Fastpass. Do it." (I was shocked how that the semi-knowledgeable tourist they talked to didn't know you could get a new one after two hours...doesn't the pass tell you when you can get your next one?)
They recommended the Baby Care Center for new moms/toddlers.
*"You can sometimes lose your stroller...bring yourself a balloon or tie something brightly colored on it"
They said they'd have more tips at 5 and 6 tomorrow, but I don't think I'll make them.

6 PM will be how to do Disneyland "on a budget" which is probably pretty amusing...or at least cable TV's idea of how to do WDW "on the cheap" made me laugh, as their "on the cheap" is only a bit less expensive than my "splurging like crazy"!
After the story, one of the anchors helpfully suggested that if you go on a cloudy, rainy winter day, "the park is yours." Another suggested, less helpfully, that the rides aren't busy during the parades...I know that used to be true but in my experience that doesn't hold true anymore during busy times, though maybe it works for smaller rides. (All that is assuming there, you know, IS a parade.

)
Anyway, overall, I think the main reporter (who WAS a local to Arizona!) more or less knew his stuff. I still like the DIS boards better, though.
Here's the website they plugged. Basic advice...but I can't believe they spelled it "Phantasmic".
