Hello Experts!

We are headed to DL in a few weeks for the first time and I need a bit of help with a question. I have called DisneyLand tickets and gotten a few, very different, answers. I wondered if anyone had any experience with this.

We are active duty military and have purchased 5 day PH tickets for everyone in our family from our ticket office on the base we are stationed at. This is the longest amount of days that our ticket office sells.
We chose not to take advantage of the Armed Forces Salute because we have 5 in our group and want to visit the parks more than 3 days. We are actually going to be at DL for a full week and would like to access the parks for 6 days.

We are WDW vets and when this has happened at WDW, we activate the tickets on our first trip into a park and then head to Guest Services to add an additional day to each ticket. This enables us to get credit for the full value of the ticket, not the discounted value that we actually paid at the base, and then only have to pay the small additional amout for the extra day. We were instructed to do this by Disney Management CMs, it is not something we discovered on our own to "get around the system".

Is this possible at DL? Or do we only get credit for the actual amount we paid for the tickets when we go to add an additional day?

Any knowledge or thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't have an exact answer (I'm sure you'll get one here!) but maybe a suggestion. IF you can't add on the 6th day for less than $99 it would be your best interest to go ahead and get the Military Salute Tickets for that price as well and then you'd have 3 extra days and you can use them anytime during the next year. They do not have to be used within 13 days as most park tickets do. Just make sure you get the newest promotion tickets instead of last years, they expire Sept. '11 where the newer ones are good through Sept '12.

I just got back from DLR after using 5-day military park hoppers myself. Everything I have read and heard (from calling DLR Guest Relations and through posters on this site) is that you CAN add an additional day on to your pass. However, they go off of the VALUE of your ticket. When we got our regular tickets on our first day, the printed VALUE on the ticket was $169.50 (we PAID $184 for each ticket).

Based on the printed VALUE of the ticket, I figured that we would not only lose any discount we had by adding a day onto our ticket, but we would actually come out BEHIND by about $15 dollars/ticket compared to purchasing at full price due to the VALUE of the ticket being less than what we PAID for it.

As a previous poster pointed out, Disneyland does not work like Walt Disney World. When upgrading at Disneyland, you are only given the value that you paid toward your upgrade, not the posted retail value of the ticket.

When buying these tickets at the PX, do we need anything other than military ID? Thanks for any help!
