After reading mixed reviews, I think we are going to take the DLR bus to our hotel, but then get a shuttle or car service for the way back to the airport.

Does everyone agree that that's the best decision, considering we HAVE to make our flight home? LOL.

We took Super Shuttle on arrival day and a got a flat rate taxi voucher for our return trip. I had the same thought, that I didn't want to take any chances on making our return flight.

Ok, now I'm concerned. I just made a round trip ressie for the Express for our trips between PPH and SNA. What should I know??

I've just heard that they aren't the most punctual, and that the schedules seems to change on a whim...

Just to confirm, I don't need to have booked my vacation through Disney to take the bus, correct? Anyone going to a DLR hotel/Good Neighbor Hotel can use this bus, correct?

And, is there a bathroom on the bus?

When i booked a month ago for our upcoming visit next week i was originally going to go with the disnelyand express but i found a private shuttle van cheaper and it will be more timely because my family is the only one the van will be waiting for at the airport as well as picking up from the hotel for our return trip to the airport.

Unfortunately with DS5 and not taking a car seat, the Express is our best bet. Hopefully it works out for us.

I have two toddlers ages 2 and 3 and will not be taking car seats either, but i booked with airway one shuttle and as long as you book a private van not a shared van they will provide you with the requested carseats/booster seats. Round trip it is going to be $109 for our family of 6

I think I read in another post that you took Super Shuttle from LAX. How was that? How long did it take? Was everyone in the shuttle heading to Anaheim?

OP, I think your plan is good. I have also read the reviews on the DLR Express and they are not all that favorable for the return trips. Best bet is the taxi, especially if going to SNA then it's only around $40-$45. I also feel like the taxi doesn't require you to leave as early. It only takes around 20-30min max to get to SNA but the shuttles and the resort bus will usually have you leaving 2-3 hours before you need to because you are tied to their schedules. Good luck!

I hope nothing has changed. We have always used the DLR express service and never been late to the airport. We've taken this bus to both LAX and SNA with no problems in the past. What reviews are leading you to believe the service is not reliable?

We love the Disneyland express, we have never been late. Just choose the pick up time that is giving you the most time to get to the airport, based on heavy traffic, etc. and day of the week. In fact we got to the airport way too early and decided to have dinner at the airport.

As much as I prefer to rent a car, I have never had that experience with the Disneyland Resort Express service.

It's not run by Disney, so of course you can. Their website should have lots of information about where the stops are, what motels it picks up/drops off at, etc.

I have used the DLR Express bus as well from both LAX and SNA and didn't have too much of an issue. It seemed to be running late last year but I usually left an hour earlier than I would driving or taking another mode of transportation just in case it was late. We still had a ton of time in the airport but I'm one that always allows for extra time just in case.

We, too, have used the DLR express bus traveling to and from our hotel and airport many times and have never had a problem with it being late. They drive in the bus lane on the highway so we haven't even had an issue with traffic heading to the airport! Have a great trip!
