Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders: Bring a Friend this Summer

FWIW, I didn't feel that either park was particularly "empty" on my visit Wednesday. Granted, I was only there for five hours (~9:30a to 2:30p), and wait times were lovely but there were a good number of people milling in the parks. I spoke with folks who attended Monday who said similarly of that day: short wait times but generally busy.

I liked it!
Agree. I was also there Wednesday. Wait times were nice, but there were a LOT of people still there. Galaxy's Edge was full of people hanging out. The Cantina and light sabers are making them a ton of money. They need to get a few more bodies in to up food and merch sales, but lifting AP block outs could create a crowded problem. July is coming and crowds will naturally pick up. This bring a friend deal will probably help add a few bodies without overcrowding the park. On our way to DCA today.

Same. Lots of people. Low wait times. It was interesting.

Thursday afternoon was low wait times and I would not call it “lots of people.” It was not empty like May 31 was; it wasn’t “deserted” or anything, but it was low crowds for sure.

- During the 3:30 parade, pretty much just the first row of viewing in the shade was taken up; barely anyone was in the sun and you could just hop in anywhere on Main Street and be in 2nd-row viewing while the parade was in progress. That’s not normal.
- Anna and Elsa had no wait. Plenty of seating available in Animation lobby on a warm afternoon.
- Stuff like Big Thunder was essentially a walk-on all afternoon. We had FPs but realized the standby line was merging past the FP line, so then we just went a few times with less wait than a FP would normally provide.
- Waited behind just one other group for both Vader and Chewie in Launch Bay.

SWGE also had a fair amount of people in it, but it wasn’t packed by any means. It felt less crowded in the marketplace and just in general than the reservation “overlap” times did.

I’ll be back tonight with a friend to check out Friday night “crowds.”

Will be discussing this ticket option with my cousins on the 4th to see if they would like to go next month for their daughter's birthday. We invited them for 7/17-7/19 when we are at the Grand for the anniversary, but can really go anytime. May see if my friend wants to do a day for her boys' birthdays in August since they let their passes go last year.

Anyone have any idea of how the flex pass will work? If it’s a reservation only day and I have a reservation, can I purchase for my guest for that day?
I was on chat earlier today asking about upgrading my current Hopper to a Flex AP (if I could do it via the app and pay with a gift card - nope) and asked this question. CM assured me if I had an active reservation I'd be able to take advantage of the Bring a Friend offer!

Be really careful upgrading the Hopper to Flex via the App. I tried, even w/out the added complication of the Gift Card, and ended up with two passes: One brand new Flex as well as the original Hopper. Basically, the App failed to "upgrade" but processed the transaction as "buy new." This was finally resolved at the ticket booth ... but, oh my, what a mess!

Thank you! I guess maybe the gift card hiccup is a blessing since now I'll have to do it in person!

It's a bummer that the tix are same day use/must buy at ticket booth. We're bringing someone, so I would rather not have to buy an individual ticket every day.

That's my only complaint. But for the amount saved, most of my friends and family won't care.

Today was much busier than Wednesday. We arrived at the parking garage 5 mins earlier but had a farther spot. We spent the day at DCA and felt it was almost normal summer. The popular rides did not have as long of waits, but some of the less popular had average or longer waits. For example Goofy's got up to 40 mins and held around 35 most of the afternoon. That is comparable with last June. Grizzly was up to 70 at peak and we waited 10 minutes for Ariel at 11. But we were able to walk on Maters in the evening, so that was nice. The posted wait for Toy Story dropped to 25, but it was a lie. I said to my husband that is the same line we've seen all day and the wait has been 40 minutes. Sure enough 10 min after we got in line they announced the wait was 45 minutes, and we waited just over 45. It felt crowded and WOC tickets were gone before noon. But the wait for food was shorter than we've experienced on previous June trips. We know it was less crowded than a normal June day, BUT it did not feel that uncrowded.

I’m at DL right now (in line for MFSR as I type), and it’s not very crowded, but more crowded than yesterday. It certainly wasn’t “Friday night crowds” over here.

I think DCA may have seemed more crowded because it doesn't have DAP blockouts.
