Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Also... I've read some posts and watched some vlogs from WDW visits and rides that have plexiglass, and it seems like most people thing the plexi hasn't interfered with their enjoyment of the ride at all. Fingers crossed. :)

It varied on the ride for us- some rides it didn't bother us and others it felt more obnoxious. On Rise if you're in the back row it definitely felt in the way but tolerable since the ride has more of a 360 view during it. Small World was fine because you're looking to the side anyways.

Most noticeable to us was Frozen because the water would splash it and make it all blurry but DLR doesn't have that ride so shouldn't be an issue there at least!

100% agree. Of all the rides we did at WDW, the one that was most negatively impacted by the Plexiglas was Frozen.

This. The only ride I've seen lots of plexiglass complaints for is Frozen Ever After.

I’ve seen a few streams and reviews mentioning people didn’t like then plexiglass on the runaway railway ride at HS.

The plexiglass was ok to me, but not great. I was most bugged with it on the safari, Living with the Land, and Mickey and Minnie's Railway. I like to take a lot of pictures on the safari and Living with the Land and I would lose some of my chance with the screens there. And then on Mickey and Minnie, I felt like it interfered with the overhead screens as it had the border around the screen that went through part of the screen/view. I really did not mind them on Frozen, but I also found I did not get as much of a splash with them which would be something I would like.

I swear - I do not remember it on Small World?!?! But looking at pics, it looks like I was in the front row, so maybe that is why it did not resonate with me.

On the glass-half-full side, a ride with plexiglass is better than a closed ride. 😸

Or a ride with a gigantic wait time.... We were actually in the parks when they installed the plexiglass on some rides so we experienced some before and after the plexiglass.. and let me say, I didn't mind it much at all when our wait time went from like 90 minutes to 30 minutes haha. So for me, I think it's worth it just for that alone. I know others disagree though and would rather wait longer for a ride without it.

Ahhh I forgot about Safari... it wasn't even plexiglass... just like floating plastic. :rotfl2: Yeah, we didn't like that either. Agree totally on Mickey and Minnie's Railway, we noticed that too.

I'm trying to imagine what rides at DLR would be negatively impacted by plexiglass but since all the examples I have in my head are WDW specific, I'm not thinking of much! I suppose just Indiana? I could see it getting in the way but you also have so many moments with lights on/off and fast movements so maybe not. My son loves, loves, loves that ride so you could put it in a plexiglass bubble and he wouldn't care one bit.

They could add it to MFSR if they load more than one party together.

Soarin has plexiglass at WDW but it’s on the sides. Doesn’t impact the view.

Pirates?

That’s all I can think of 🤔

Didn't they do this at WDW? When we went we got the Falcon to ourselves (ahhh yeahhh!) but I think that's changed. That sounds sooo strange to me.

Star Tours also had it but again just side view like Soarin'.

I hope they leave it off Pirates... I have a feeling we'd have the water splash issue with that one.

It’s funny that the3 of you said this because I was going to post that Frozen was the only ride where the plexiglass bothered me. The water marks on the plexiglass made it like looking through a bit of a dirty window. It didn’t bother me in anything else. However, I’ll take my “dirty window” view over having to wait twice as long. That’s a concession I’m more than willing to make since the parks are now much busier than they were last summer.
