Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Yikes...I wouldn't have thought speculating on the speculation thread about how Disney will check IDs(or if they will) would have been such a hot topic. I love how this wondering aloud was construed as "encouraging out of state visitors to come."

As someone already mentioned, we'll find out next week, but the WHOLE point of this thread is to daydream about what the future might hold. If you think that someone's idea or pontification is lame, then scroll on...

Agreed, it's also pretty insulting to assume all of us out of state folks are looking for loopholes to break rules- nearly all of us on here have said we're waiting for an official go ahead and some (like me) aren't even coming until later this year.

Like I said yesterday... let's all play nice folks. :flower1: This side of the DIS used to be such a kind place. I know tensions are running high and things are stressful but let's just enjoy the armchair speculating. I just find speculating on things entertaining even if it literally doesn't affect me anytime soon. And I'm also (still, ugh) working from home with no other adults to talk to all day long so sometime I come here just to get that adult conversation!

If they require it for entrance though, it'll be hard pressed to count since it has to be FULLY vaccinated, which is 2 weeks past the 2nd dose. The calendar just isn't in my favor on that one.

Let's hope we won't have to worry about that! At the very least, I can't see them backpedaling to all of a sudden require CA folks to provide them. That would certainly create a stir- no one that bought tickets signed up for that or having to deal with negative tests for kids, etc.

I haven't seen any where were Disney said they are going to check it. Can you link to the official statement? California never said that theme parks need to check IDs at the gate, just proof of residence when selling tickets.

And past experiences are silly to compare to in the age of covid.
No, I'm ending my part of the conversation now. I want to keep this thread open because it's useful and the back & forth you continue to insist on is going to get it locked.

As has been pointed out repeatedly, they didn't care about the back up or limiting guest interaction for ToD. So it's equally, if not more, silly to compare it to what WDW is doing.

Right? Florida doesn't have a "In State Only" requirement, so why would they check IDs? You aren't going to see them come out and post "We will ask for ID." They didn't even do that when they require ID for military (which is why so many relied on what we said here about experiences) or SoCal ticket (which is why so many relied on what we said here about experiences) , or before they started pics on tickets and were cracking down on multiple people using multi day tickets (which is why so many relied on what we said here about experiences).

I do expect them to request ID, same as all the above situations, but only on first use.

I'll report back on my experience though.

It will be interesting for sure. Those other scenarios were reduced cost tickets where Disney served to lose money if the terms weren't enforced. Here they are enforcing a rule that the state doesn't seem that keen on enforcing and is carving out exceptions left and right.

It's my lot in life that I'm always behind the family of eight at rope drop that has no idea where their tickets are and have to start emptying pockets and digging in backpacks. :rotfl2:
The one and only time we’ve been the very first people in line, we waited proudly to hand over our expired APs from the year before. 😭 I was so confused as to why they wouldn’t scan. I’m sure family #2 was ready to kill us!

Speculation - if they have "relaxation stations" like WDW does, where will it be in each park?
My guesses:
DL: Hungry bear, Rancho, Mickey & the Magical Map theater
DCA: seating area where WOC is, to the right of Hyperiod Theater or by Stage 12
I wonder if the Hyperion "queue" will be used for GotG social distance queue instead.
I agree with the areas for DL, my guesses for DCA would be paradise gardens & WOC viewing area

OCHA just announced that the Disneyland Super POD vaccine site will be closed as of April 30.

Think they will be opening up Toy Story LOT?

Hmmm....
I doubt it til the parking structure is filling up. They may get prepared for it, but I think vaccines are lower and the super pod at the convention center might be able to handle it.

But as they are not using trams/buses, and they are using the bus area on the Harbor side for queuing, I don't think they will reopen Toy Story for a while. But, stranger things have happened.

They actually opened up 2 more PODs and are simply consolidating the operations there because they are having issues keeping all the locations adequately staffed.

I do wonder if they will use the Toy Story lot for cast members though. Half of it used to be used by cast before the pandemic and they would probably like to have that space back.

I haven't heard anything that was an actual date rumor (not even a time range). I've only heard "it's ready to go" and "a question of when; not if". Nothing substantial or with any true credibility, though.

Just checking the thread.... Thank you.

I think for the most part this thread has been pretty civil, and of course people are going to speculate about the opening of the Disneyland Resort parks.

Just please remember that until Disneyland lifts the restriction for purchasing theme park tickets do not post about purchasing tickets unless you are a California resident.

Thank you for posters trying to keep this a kinder corner of the Disboards.

Disneyland Reopening Update- Mice Chat

Lots of good info from Mice Chat today. Sounds like Indiana Jones is confirmed to have plexiglass (ugh, what a bad view for the back row...) and many of the ride queues.

On one hand, plexiglass does positive things for ride waits but man... some rides it really distorts the experience. I hope plexiglass all over doesn't stay long term... which I have a feeling will be the case.
