Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

... but they were technically supposed to get guidance to reopen on July 4. It’s almost September and nothing...

From what I recall of the exact language it was after July 4. Not on July 4. They just never said how long after July 4 :rotfl2:

I do agree the spirit of it was that something would be heard sooner than later, but they did leave it extremely open ended and there is no doubt in my mind that was 100% on purpose. Here's hoping theme park guidance is given soon.

Leaders in San Diego county held a press conference yesterday at Legoland, basically begging the state to allow them to open, citing the safety measures they have implemented successfully at their parks around the world. It was happening yesterday afternoon. Seems maybe they didn't get a seat at the table at whatever meeting was happening yesterday. They reiterated that their safety protocols go above and beyond what the state has indicated is required for other businesses reopening.

Legoland is struggling. My closest friend and her husband here in San Diego are close with someone high up in corporate, and he told them privately that they are in really dire straights financially at legoland.

I have been wondering when we’d get a Blog article with a “rumored” date from “sources”. Sure, might be nothing. But at the same time... rumblings...
Yep, rumblings. Not putting a whole lotta hope into it, but BlogMickey is usually pretty spot on with stuff. I just don’t know why bloggers report rumors of things before it is actually official.

For what it's worth, Disneyland had the lights on at both Mainstreet station and Yerba Buena Street at DCA for the first time in months!. Plexiglass is up that the turnstile entrances.
We were there 8/8/20 and all the lights were on BVS and the train station. We have video. I don’t get why this is a big deal all the sudden 🤷‍♀️

Edit: I just re-read this and it sounds so rude! Sorry, that was NOT my intention at all. I’ve just seen the lights on a bunch and am trying to figure out why it’s just now being reported?

Because people are desperate for any clue that the parks might be getting ready to open. My thought on that is OF COURSE the parks are getting ready to open. That doesn't mean they are CLOSE to reopening, as it is not in Disney's (or any other theme parks) hands to reopen.

And there were reports with photos on this board about the plexiglass being installed at the turnstiles in both parks as early as July 9th when DTD reopened and people were allowed into the esplanade. This news isn't new (although I agree that it may be brand new to many). For those who are keeping up with the superthreads on our boards, you are pretty up to date on whatever DLR news is out there.

Totally! I just find it disappointing that other websites are reporting things as new, that aren’t. When I read it I totally got my hopes up too. But then when I saw what they were talking about I realized it was the same when we were there. That was a bummer. I know we are all looking for any little glimmer of hope or little signs that point to a reopening soon.

Went to Seaworld today. Lots of LA folk came down. Whole families. Was a lot of fun and was happy to be back to see the animals.

Seaworld $75 with 6 punch card. Passholders: $30. $25 Parking.

DLR can do this SO easily without rides.
How long does it go on?
