Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I mean, theoretically, Disney can still go all-in on prep for July 17 (or even a slightly later date).... nothing is necessarily stopping them from that aside from union issues (which appear to be resolving).

It's just that they would be gambling on a) what Newsom says around the 7/4 holiday, b) could spend a lot of time retooling things based on now out-of-date assumptions and c) could be sitting on the high costs of having a park ready for guests without full gov't approval.

In the end, I still agree with their decision to hold w/ no date, but I'll double-down on my bet that it's going to be a <7 day lead time from the state announcing and the legal go-date.
Interesting.... I have a July 27th - Auguust 1st at GCH and haven't received any calls yet,
July 23 at PPH and no calls. The OP had previously said they were staying at the Tropicana.

I wouldn't be surprised if Disneyland will reopen post August 1st . . .
I think August 1 is the absolute earliest. It takes about a month to see the effect of any new event, either something that sparks an increase (Memorial Day) or encourages a decrease (new orders). I suspect he will want to wait to see whether whatever new orders are being put in place this week have the desired effect by the end of July. A post-Labor Day opening is my official bet though, and that's assuming no new surges between now and then. Everyone wear your masks ;)

Do you have a news source for this? I'm wondering if this is just going to repeat the things that we already know.

This is a good reminder for everyone in this thread: if possible, please cite a source (and link to it!) -- not everyone following along lives in CA or even in the US -- so let's try to make it easy for those reading through this thread to find the sources for the official information. Thank you!

I got the Disney Dogs print in the smaller crossbody and the Disney sketch (black trim) crossbody. They need to end this darn sale though because now I'm back on here eyeballing that Minnie parks print haha! The Ink and Paint sold out waaaay too fast, it was gone before I could get it in my cart.
You should check out Harvey's seatbelt bags. They make Disney designs too!

I don't know I feel like they have more then enough room to focus on outdoor dining

They might be able to move tables outside. Some restaurants already have outdoor dining, like Uva, La Brea, Naples, and Ralph Brennan's. Others like Blacktap, Ballast Point, Catal do not. However with limited capacity, it probably wouldn't make sense for restaurants to open if they can't open the dining rooms to at least 50% capacity.

Maybe just the shops and quick serve food locations will open at first. Disney never released a list of businesses that would open up on July 9.

They should bring those food trucks back! So there are more food options to choose from

Governor has ordered in restaurant dining to cease operations in 19 counties, including Orange County. Bars must also close.

I think DtD reopening may be pushed back if restaurants cannot fully reopen.

I'm not surprised that in restaurant dining is ceased and I'm glad bars are closed, it was always packed from pictures I've seen and no one wore masks in bars.
I honestly think DtD should remain closed for now, it just wouldn't make sense to only have a few things open in dtd, it wouldn't make sense to be open.

I kind of agree. But then again, the places we want to visit most are stores and Earl of sandwich and Napolini, so...

My husband and I went out to eat last Saturday and even at reduced capacity, I felt uneasy. We made a reservation at Din Tai Fung for lunch Friday, but about 2 hours ago, I talked to my husband and told him I was gonna cancel it and we could get it take out instead. Now, looks like we won't have a choice. While I get that being in a restaurant eating means you can't wear a mask the whole time, being in a room with lots of people talking and laughing loudly, unmasked, made me super uneasy. We did it because it was a special anniversary, but I'm now finding myself mentally counting days until I get to 14 again, and I don't like that.

I miss some of the DtD food restaurants and it would be nice if they could just do take-out but I don't see that being a good reason to open since i don't think they could enforce people leaving after they pick up their food.

I haven't been to a restaurant since before the pandemic started, I try to make my own food at home but if I really want to go to a restaurant I just do take out or delivery or drive thru. I don't know if I'll feel comfortable dining in restaurants anytime soon.

I got Din Tai Fung a few weeks ago and brought my own table/chairs and set-up/ate in an empty parking garage.

It was fantastic.
