Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

The site also crashed a few times in the hours before they went on sale because people (including myself) were checking every hour on the hour starting at midnight since they didn't give us a start time.

I'm guessing that's a big reason they've said reservations and tickets won't be available prior to 8am. Doesn't give an exact time, but keeps them from having to watch for too much traffic starting hours too early. I'm just glad to know I'll be able to sleep instead of feeling the need to pull an all nighter again :rotfl:
I didn't know that! That's insane! But why do I get the feeling that people will still be on the site at least an hour before refreshing just in case it goes live right at 8? (Me. I will be one of those people)
I was just going to ask this - am I going to be the only crazy person hoping to get into a waiting room or something early? Looks like I’ll be in good company!

Because we'll all be those people :rotfl:

Better than doing it for nine hours before at least 😬? There is the theory that since only Cali residents this time it shouldn't be as bad, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm expecting the 15th to be chaos. That way if it isn't, I'll be pleasantly surprised lol!

I wonder if they'll use Queue It at all again. It's not perfect, but I like that it gives us the option to give our place in line to someone else if we can't use it (also to keep our place if we have to switch devices). I did that for several people during ToD ticket sales as did many others.

I can't even try until the 15th since no tickets, but I'll probably get up early on the 12th anyways to watch the drama unfold live without the pressure of being a participant.
First, very kind of you with TOD, secondly: if you're up early,, you will have a front row seat to me possibly panicking! But I agree, I don't want to be naive about just just CA residents. Maybe some out of states with tickets will be there as well to get tickets for later dates closer to june👀 my expectations are low so that I can be surprised. I'll get up early, but not too early, and if I'm behind in the queue, oh well, I need my sleep lol

I also figure since no pressure on me that day, I can keep my eyes on other social media for anything that gets shared to bring here as tips.

I'm not a morning person at all, but this is something I think I want to be awake to watch happen as it happens. I'll be staying off Disney's site, of course, so I don't add to the traffic trying to access it. But I'll be reading along.

I'm also really hoping with the June 4 announcement for Avengers Campus means more will ignore those May dates than would have before 👀

this would be ideal! Lol but the demand is high. People (including me) are ready to ride rides like pirates again, at all costs!

When might Orange County go into the yellow tier?

It might be awhile. We seem to have plateaued at right around 3 cases per 100k, which is going to hold us back in the Orange tier. It needs to go below 2 to move to yellow. Our other metrics have been solidly Yellow tier for several weeks.

Since we need 2 weeks with Yellow numbers across the board, it will be at least that long, as we haven't gotten there yet with our 7 day average.

I thought of a question this morning. We know reservations will open up for 60 days in advance. Since the initial dates to make reservations are April 12 and then April 15, I’m wondering how Disney’s going to handle opening up the calendar beyond the initial 60 days. 60 days from April 30 is June 28 I believe. So I’m wondering, after April 15, will Disney wait to release reservations for June 29 until April 30 (literally 60 days in advance), or will they do so on April 16 (or I guess April 13 maybe)? I’m just trying to think about when I’ll need to be ready to make July reservations.

I was wondering the same thing. We have tickets already, and our trip is for June 27 and 28.

I probably misunderstood but I thought when the state hit 4 million doses in those certain areas then OC would automatically move to yellow?

Nope. That goal meant they changed the Yellow tier qualifying metrics from under 1 case per 100k to under 2 cases per 100k, making it easier to reach Yellow.

Disneyland confirmed it will be a rolling 60 days during a Zoom media Q&A press conference a few days ago. So, every day after April 15, you will be able to make park reservations for one more day at the back end.

So I’ve not said anything until I knew they were in, but Legoland is confirming via private messages on FB that anyone, from anywhere, with a hotel and ticket package will be allowed in the park. I know of at least three families who they have confirmed this with visits from now until mid May. My sister and her family are in the park at this moment. They booked back when the LL page said “CA recommended” and went to cancel later and LL said not to worry.

I imagine they're not as worried being a bit more 'under the radar' than Disneyland. And if he really is gonna toss the tiers out the window on June 15th then that probably also eases their worries too.
