this was reported in the OC Register: http://bit.ly/jaHOi honestly i dont think its that bad. just a $3 price increase, it looks like they increased all the AP's by $40.

They are reporting these new prices will take effect this coming Sunday.

They only increased the Premium AP by $40. The deluxe went up by $20, and the other 2 by $10.

whoops, i guess i only paid attention to the one i cared about :). its nice to know they will keep the monthly payment system they have. i may take advantage of it, when it comes time to renew my PAP.

I wonder if this means you'll get a $72 Fun Pass for your bday instead of the $69?

the fun pass is an alternative to a one day one park ticket, so I believe the pass's value will rise.

I'm not complaining, since my b'day is in October. :) now if only we can finagle a way to get down there again....

i was really thinking of getting premium passes but over $400 each and i would have to buy 4 thats $$$.... i guess i just wont be taking the extra few weekend trips i was planning to do when we could get a cheap air/hotel deal since we would have entrance paid....

$3 not so bad, but wow, it is amazing to see how much a single day ticket has gone up since 2001.

Whoa. DW & I are in Vegas now, and we stopped at the Bakersfield Costco on the way to buy our DAPs. Based on the info from all you good folks here on the DIS, I had a feeling that it was better to buy them on the way here rather than on the way home.

I'm curious though. Does Disney take back their inventory from Costco, or can you still buy the Costco deal for $269? The Bakersfield store had a large number on display -- it looked like maybe 100 or so. And has Disney/Costco announced a new Costco deal at the new price?

Thanks to everyone who predicted this hike. Saved us $40 (2x20) just for acting quickly.

I'm all about free market economics. However, my salary/income cannot match the rate of Disney price increases over the last ten years or so.

Disney inflation.

Disney did report a 26% loss this quarter so they have to make it up some how. Its just really terrible that its just a little hard to pick up and go for us. This is the first year that we haven’t done our once every 3month trips already . I was planning to get another AP but 40 dollars more I just don’t know its a real bummer. With the previous post I don’t know if I can keep up with Disney as well maybe I will win the lottery and I will buy everyone on this board an AP!!!:cool1:

You need to read the report. They made 26% less money over all their businesses compared to last year. They made less money than projected, they are not in the red. They made less money from their parks especially overseas and WDW but they did not loose money greating a negative balance.
They would like to gt back to where they were last year but that takes some adjustments such as increasing the rates and reorginizing(cutting the Fat.)

I would be surprized if the gift card would be going up since it was 69, but I guess we will see.

It wasn't just that the $72 was expected - it was reported in the OC Register as being $72!!! You mean to tell me that DLR raised it by $5? Wow! I don't know - I expected a $3 increase in this horrible economy, but I guess they are trying to make up for all the good deals and discounts they offered throughout the year - the free admission on birthdays, the 5 for 3 offers, etc.

Last August I bought 3-day park hoppers from the DL website the night before the price increase.....at around 11:50 p.m. It saved us around $70. I remember thinking that I got in just in the nick of time. But I continued to check the DL website over the next days (weeks?), and it took a LONG time for them to increase the price of park hoppers sold in advance from their site. Not sure how quickly their website will show the changes this year....

Yep I was suprised also..the reason I called is we got wrong hopper passes I chose 3 days instead of the 5 for 3 but they will fix it through email for me as they are the same price which was nice but we got to talking about the gift card and I asked her when price increase would go into affect and she said today they went up with single day admisson being $74 now... I told her I had heard $72 and she said nope went up $5 I didn't ask about AP's so not sure of increase for those.... I also asked her about gift card and she did'nt know the answer but said it would be a nice suprise if it did increase as single day admission had! She was great and really helpful.

Makes me wish I had bought our tickets for September yesterday. So far my credit union hasn't posted any changed prices for their PH's (which are usually cheaper to begin with thankfully). I hope it also means they'll up the fun card value.
