Mr Toad must have been in a rush... He has left his umbrella by the door and the lights turned on. The flowers give it a nice touch. I love the detail :thumbsup2

Ok it was two separate photos I took. My new camera has a panorama assist feature. So it take panorama photos in parts , and then I load it into this program I use and it puts them together.. not as good as the one that came in the software with the camera, but I cannot get that one to start and load today so I used a different one that I download for the internet!

Gorgeous! You must know this ride so well to get these shots with as quickly as those boats go.

Thank you Laura:) This is from one of two times we rode this ride this summer. I had not ridden this in awhile and was really surprised at the speed of the boats :scared1: I was whipping back and forth catching what I could. Thank goodness for a fast focusing lens.

Thank you Robert. I knew that some these had some details from earlier shots I had taken but was amazed at the intricate details on each and every house.

I'd love some opinions from you guys, if you don't mind...

I'm renting a lens to take on our trip in Nov / Dec. If you all had your choice, would you prefer a 50mm f/1.4 or a 85mm f/1.4 for Disneyland? I currently have the 50mm reserved but I'm really starting to think maybe the 85mm would be a better bet.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Personally I have a 30mm f/1.4 and think that it is perfect. The 85mm f/1.4 is an awesome lens (either Nikon or Sigma) for portraits. The Nikon one is know as the "Cream Machine" due to the unbelievable bokeh that it produces but unless you are doing portrait work then I don't think it would be great for Disneyland. When I purchased my 30mm I was in a debate about the 50mm f/1.8 which was cheap but I knew that I would appreciate the wider angle with the 30mm. Remember that 30mm = 50mm on a D40 and 50mm = 75mm and 85mm = 128mm. You will have a lot of fun with the f/1.4 which ever you choose. You will be able to take a lot of dark ride shots. :thumbsup2

Thanks Roger...that is GREAT information. Looks like I will stick with the 50mm for this trip. I appreciate the help! :goodvibes

Although, maybe I should just buy a 35mm 1.8 which isn't quite twice the price of renting the 1.4 for two weeks. Oy.

Also, I just had to share my excitement here! I just ordered a 50mm 1.8, and I am so thrilled. I cannot wait for it to get here to play!! :goodvibes Hopefully this will lead to the 1.4 early next year. :lovestruc

Well this certainly got MY attention! :lmao: what camera are you using?

Thanks!! :) I'm really looking forward to seeing your stuff with whichever lens you decide on after all the discussion!! :goodvibes

I'm sticking with the 50mm 1.4 for this trip. I may start shopping after the trip and make another mini trip in Feb. ;)

Awesome! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.

If you make another trip in Feb, we should try to run into each other or something. :) Talk shop and whatnot.
