Nice one, Eddie. :thumbsup2

The one I posted earlier was taken with my D80 before I got the D300. I wish I could give it another go at a much higher ISO like you did with your D3 in this one. ISO 6400 at f/1.4 on that camera can do just about anything!

WoW! That completely freaked me out when I looked at that picture! My first thought was why can I see Star Tours and Astro Orbiter at the same time! Then I thought, that's not where Star Tours is! And finally, DUH! That's DL, Not WDW. I think I'm in for a lot of little shocks when I get there. :lmao:

This is the closest DL image I could find related to wishing all of you folks a Happy New Year!

Oh my goodness! It is so funny to me that you posted this picture, Danny! I must have had a sixth sense about it! This banner/sign was something that my friends and I noticed in 2007 and thought was a cute and silly take on the typical holiday greeting. It became a running joke throughout the Dec. 2007 trip. On this past Dec. 2008 trip, we seemed to walk all over the place but we either passed right by this sign or we didn't walk in that specific area where it was. Somehow we missed it. JUST LAST NIGHT, I was thinking, 'Oh, gee, it's too bad we missed seeing that Merry Critters... sign. I wonder how we overlooked it.' And I was thinking of e-mailing my friend with a Merry Critters and Happy Pooh Year greeting this morning. And then I come on here and see your picture!!! Wow! What great timing! You must have felt the vibes that some DIS'er out there was pondering over that Merry Critters sign and reached into your vast archives of magical, wonderful photos and - poof!! Pulled it out just like that!!! I am going to have to show my friend this picture, as I think she will get a hoot out of it!:goodvibes

By the way, just out of curiosity, did anyone happen to get any good pictures - especially nighttime shots - of the oversized Christmas ornaments and decorations in A Bug's Land in 2008? We saw them, and I had intended to go back and take some pictures at night, but there was not enough time to get back there. I wanted to see what all those giant Christmas bulbs looked like lit up at night. Not being able to get back over to A Bug's Land and also my camera dying in ToonTown while I was trying to take pictures of the Christmas stuff (the big tree, Mickey's tree and Minnie's tree, etc., etc.) are the two big annoyances of the December 2008 DLR trip! Grrrrrrrrrr.......

That's a beautiful pic eym! Love the colors.

Sherry: Don't worry about missing the Pooh sign, you're not going crazy. They didn't put it up this year. The first time I went into Critter Country & didn't see the sign, I was complaining about how easily it could've been put up. Maybe I should've done it myself. ;)

Oh goodness! I was thinking we just didn't hit the 'right' part of Critter Country to see the sign, or somehow had overlooked it when we walked through to get to the place with the candy apples!! I even asked my friend at one point, "Where is the Merry Critters and Happy Pooh Year sign?" And she kind of motioned off in the distance, "Oh, I think it is somewhere off that way." But thanks to your update, Disneylvrforever, now I realize it wasn't up and we wouldn't have seen it anyway!! You are right - it WOULD have been so easy for them to just hang it up again. It doesn't seem like it would interfere with anything or take too much work. It's that darn economy again - they couldn't hire enough help to hang the 'Happy Pooh Year' sign!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: (I am kidding, of course!)

I think we will have to sneak in there in late November and hang the sign ourselves, Disneylvrforever!!!:lmao:

Sounds good to me!
At the same time, maybe we can also have the little heffalump bees hang the garland again. Can you believe they weren't there this season?
If we dress up like Christmas trees, no one will ever know we were there.

That's true - since they pull out the 700 Christmas trees from the Disneyland warehouse down the street every November, if we just put on tree costumes, we will blend right in!:rotfl: The heffalump bees were gone too!?:scared1: It did seem to be kind of bare in that area in terms of really cute holiday decor, now that I think of it, but I guess I didn't realize what exactly was missing other than the Pooh Year sign, and I assumed I overlooked that. It seems like DLR decks out certain areas - like ToonTown and A Bug's Land get a good holiday treatment - but a cute area like Critter Country gets (sort of) ignored. Oh well, maybe in 2009 they will decorate CC again and ignore one of the other places instead!! I like ALL the lands in DL and DCA to have their own special holiday decorations. Like NOS has unique stuff that is specific to that theme, and ToonTown and ABL's decorations are unique to their themes.

SherryE.....
I have this one hope this helps.
I have a few more, but I think this is the best one.

Oh thank you so much, Disneygrl36!!! That is exactly the sort of thing I wanted to see! Something with the giant lights and ornaments! As it is, DCA is open for a limited time in the nighttime hours anyway, so there is only a brief window of opportunity to see what the ABL holiday stuff looks like lit up at night, and we just didn't make it over there in that brief window. I only saw the decorations in the daytime, and while they were cute, I had a feeling it would look even better at night! Thank you again!!!:goodvibes
