Has anyone used their dvc points for Disneyland paris? Thinking of Sequoia Lodge in June for graduation for DDs. Was it a positive experience? Do you book through membership services?
Thanks in advance........Sue

We were just at Disney paris a few weeks ago. We stayed on cash and not on points... I think they are asking for way too many points per night! As for the sequia lodge, it has a rustic cabin theme.... We've also stayed at newport bay, which was nice but way toooo crowded all the time. And my favorite is the Disneyland hotel. It is absolutely beautiful, but i think it's like 80pts a night or something like that.

Just keep in mind when you visit disney paris you're not in Disney CA or WDW. Be ready for moderate lodging to be considered deluxe!

Hope it all works out!

We went to DLP last summer on points. We stayed at the Newport Bay Club, but visited one of the restaurants at Sequoia for dinner. It looked like a very nice hotel (as did all of the hotels there). We very much enjoyed the visit. Some of the benefits are that you get length of stay Park Hopper passes and continental breakfast included with your points. We booked through Member Services, and all went very smoothly. Just make sure that you have your confirmation letter with you for check-in!

My son and his girlfriend stayed at New York Hotel on our points and yes it was a lot of points BUT we weren't using them so it was free.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I struggled with that decision for months. I finally decided not to use points. The main factor that influenced my decision was the issue of where to spend our time. We are going to Paris and London for short stays and spending most of our Paris time at DP just didn't make sense. I was also very concerned about the quality of the lodging (there are many reports of how run-down Sequoia has become.) Many had suggested the new Holiday Inn (here's a great website for pictures (http://www.pbase.com/pizzaman/exterior). I like the look of the new Movenpick which opens in July--will be exciting to see more pictures of it--unfortunately our trip is two days before it opens.) You might also consider the new Marriott Villas. If I had more time in Paris, I probably would have done two days at Disney and two in Paris. But with only 3 nights, I didn't want to spend two at Disney which is the minimum for points. As far as value, it depends upon the number of adults. If you have four adults in one room, given the price of the passes, using points comes out to a little more that $10 per point so I think it is fair (not great) value.

I would suggest the Hotel New York rather than Sequoia Lodge. It is a few more points per night than either SL or the Newport Bay, but it is considerably less than for the Disneyland Hotel.

A lot of people (and I agree with them) have mentioned that the rooms at SL are in need of refurbishment, and both them and the ones at the Newport Bay are smaller than the rooms at the NewYork and Disneyland Hotels. Also the bathrooms in the latter two hotels are bigger and you have the option of room service.
