I found wandering around Disneyland Paris was very 2 dimensional, eg Rock'n'Roller Coaster at WDW there is the huge guitar/coaster track suspended over you as you walk towards the attraction, at DLP it was a billboard on the attraction, a fancy billboard with a bit of 3D effects, but nothing like WDW.

It really made it seem quite flat compared to what I was used to at a Disney park. This applied to almost everything, the theming outside the attraction was pretty flat, the themeing inside the attraction was just what you would expect :)

Ummmm, wow a very big difference isn't there.

Okay so am I working this out right from this website? http://www.ticketnet.fr/panier

Can I get 3 adult tickets and 2 child tickets for both parks for 3 days for 639 euro????

Could someone double check for me in case I'm doing something wrong?

And is there any reason why this website wouldn't be good?

If I could get the tickets for 639 euro and a Crew6 room at Explorers for 456 euro = 1095 euro which exchanges for approx. $1345AUD that would be palatable :rotfl2:.

The Explorer has free continental breakfast and free shuttle, looks nice enough and the kids might enjoy the pool for the last few days of our trip. It's not Disney but it's would be ok. Reviews are fairly good.

What do you guys think about that ticket website?

Francilien tickets

booked at least 5 days in advance for a fixed date

Francilien 1 day 1 park on a weekday - 35 euros
Francilien 1 day 1 park on a weekend, public holiday or school holiday - 41 euros

Francilien 1 day 2 park on a weekday - 45 euros
Francilien 1 day 2 park on a weekend, public holiday or school holiday - 53 euros

They can be bought from

http://www.fnactickets.com/recherche/rechercheRapide.do?search=disneyland+paris

These tickets are all only up to Mar 27 though. If buying from FNAC, it can either be an e-ticket or you can pick up at one of their stores. I believe there is one close to the apartment you're renting.

Shushh, where does it say the tickets are only up to 27 March on that website? I'm just trying to follow the online purchase process to see about the pricing and I can't see where there is a date. I don't want to purchase tickets and not be able to use them so if you can tell me where I need to look for that cut off date that would be awesome.

Ignore me Shushh, just found it. I was confusing myself between the website for tickets you shared, and then the one I was on earlier. They are different.

I'm assuming you are just looking for ticket options, DO NOT PAY for tickets. at this stage, and don't pay for any hotel if it is non refundable. I'm sure by the end of the month some offers will appear at Disney and things will change and you will be able to get some offers. There are ll of the 'book before November 27' offers at the moment, once it goes past Nov 27 the new offers will appear.......

You should be sorting out all the winter packing for the upcoming trip before you worry about the end of April 2013.........

We stayed at the Sante Fe when we visited DLP (admittedly 10 years ago) in late November. From memory we were 'upgraded' to a family room, (even though there were only four of us), the room had a QS bed and two sets of bunks (our girls were young so they had the two bottom bunks). I have nothing but praise for the resort and the buses to and from the parks were regular and not overcrowded. As for the booking... I originally booked online at the Davy Crocket Ranch, but then thought about changing our dates slightly so called them up about 6 weeks before our trip. The phone call was well worth it - we ended up adding a day to our stay, changing to the Sante Fe, and adding breakfast, all while saving over $200 on the total stay. In no way am I suggesting that this is 'the norm' but I've had 3 other people I know save money while 'upgrading their stay' - all stays were midweek and NOT during European school holiday times though.

Okay Cola, I'm backing away from the "buy" button. I guess it can't get any worse price wise for me so I'll wait until after the end of November. :thumbsup2

Thanks Backinoz, this may be an option.

Thanks to Cola's advice confirming my own instincts- I also will keep hanging off until after Nov 27 as the UK deals are valid til mid Jan and our dates in May are the week after the last of the schools are back-and heck that's a week or so away only now. I am bemused by the differences in opinions re the parks. US park regulars point out lots of negatives about DLP and I am mentally on their side without having visited DLP yet-but others rave about how DLP is one of the most prettiest of parks?? Looking forward to making my own mind up on this!! (and being a typical Libran bet I'll have a vote both ways!)

Why isn't the countdown in words showing after my ticker in my signature when it is in my signature under my profile set-up?? any expert advice??

The Disneyland Park is very pretty, it's well established, lots of different things around the corner, even so you think 'oh what is that over there?' and it will be a delightful little village scene, but all it is hosting is a lot of merch and food stands in the really really pretty quaint little buildings, very pretty, lots of winding raods, lots of changing views. The Walt Disney Studios Park one is very basic, I'm not sure how much of it is them trying to keep the 'studio backlot' feel, so all the big square bulky buildings are kept as big square bulky buildings with the billboards (like Rock'n'Roller Coaster) (the first bit of Universal Studios in Orlando has the same type of feel), it also has very wide roads in it so it feels very empty, compared to the Disneyland Park, which was only highlighted by being there in Nov when it was pretty quiet. I also found that the 2 parks being right next to each other and it being so quiet so there was no real effort in deciding 'which park today?', they were almost an extension of each other so just blurred into one park rather than 2 individual parks. Maybe when it is much more crowded and you get stuck in one park for the day it's much clearer.
The Disney Village is pretty poor in the themeing.

It's definitely worth going to, but I don't think it is worth going all the way to Europe just for Disneyland Paris, just as I don't think it's worth going to Hong Kong just for HKD; if you are in Paris, or even London (you can get the train directly to Disneyland Paris from London) anyway (or Hong Kong) it's worth making sure you have a day or two to check out Disney.

Plus it's another castle to cross off the list :) (and get a pin and a fridge magnet)

Because your signature is too big. You only get a certain number of lines to have as your signature. If you remove some of the spaces between your lines it will make the ticker fit (eg, you need to condense your signature).

I just booked the Explorers hotel for 2 nights for 340 euro which is around $419AUD. I still need to buy tickets online but feel happier about this pricing than what I have seen around.

One step closer to being done.

We have booked Hotel Cheyenne for 4 nights 5 days with the 2 days and night free deal. Looking forward to hearing what you think and what you enjoy most when you visit and picking up lots of tips!! Have to plan our day in Paris too-what we want to focus on-I can skip some of the biggies as we have done them before but its been decades since we visited the Louvre..if you go and didn't pre-order tickets don't forget there's a quieter less busy entry through the shopping centre underneath rather than the main entrance down the glass pyramid.

Thanks Wendy, yes I've jotted that entrance down. What a time saver I think it will be.

I think we will buy the Museum Pass as we have 7 days in Paris before we hit DLP.

I will be interested to hear about Hotel Cheyenne, it looks very nice.

I think its worth a trip there to see the park if you can also throw a few days in Paris and London. DLP is a stunning park and worth the trip for sure. Its the best looking Disneyland park hands down. The less said about the studio park next door the better though. Its just an awful park that feels wrong and misplaced.

We were there in October 2012 and were surprised at how much was closed in the parks! The Phantom Manor especially. Trying to find a place to eat was a bit of a challenge. We stayed at the Santa Fe. I agree with the others - if you're in the area, give it a go. But I wouldn't go all that way just for DLP, especially if you've been to WDW. Doesn't compare.

They don't sell Mickey Mouse ears!!
