Disneyland Paris is doing my head in

Have to agree with the smoking, no regard for queues or personal space within queues which the children found daunting at times and made crowd hating DH every tense. He coped better with Christmas Day in Disneyland than the crowds at DLP. It was lovely to see, the little arcades, the castle, but would not go back. Was very glad we had firm plans to return to Disneyland as it would have been awful if this was my oh Disney fix for awhile. The same with Rainforest Cafe in the Village. It just didn't appear to be as well kept but having had the if celebration this year things may have stepped up a notch. Even the staff don't look like they are having fun barely cracking a smile. Just different, glad we went but wouldn't waste a day from Paris or somewhere else for a repeat visit, CASTLE CHECKED.

Yep that's the point this trip-finally tick the castle off and since we haven't made it out of Paris yet to DLP- staying there we have no excuse! Think going just after the spruce up for their 20th is a bonus!! We'll see-but I am a bit concerned how we'll both go with queue pushers though we are prepared for it. Actually I'm prepared for so many negative experiences I kind of hope in comparison we'll be pleasantly surprised-and if not well it will be "expected". I am most looking forward to seeing the castle-it looks quite a bit different than the other 3 we've seen. Also looking forward to a slower paced start to the holiday with just DH and I and no DD til later-especially as DH (to a bit lesser extent) and I are the Disney lovers not so much DD.

They were doing renovations on the castle while were there last year. Can't wait to see a picture all done they did a great job blending the scaffolding.

Not sure if it is too late now, but new offer for DLP, 20% off for 2 nights for your dtaes.... http://fr.offres.disneylandparis.be/offres-speciales/reservez-tot.xhtml# a good example of a country specific discount worth trawling through other country offers!

(I booked through the UK site when I went and left the country as UK, but filled in everything else as Australia and put Sydney Australia as my city name, everything was online, so postal address wasn't an issue)

And the other thing to look at, I compared the Disney's Hotel New York with Disneyland Hotel, and 2 rooms at DHNY was cheaper than the one room that sleeps 5 at DH. May apply for the cheaper hotels too. Could mean your MIL has a room to herself for a couple of good nights sleep to prepare for the long flight home.......
