Disneyland Paris Changes Coming (Rumors)

I assume it means Studio One, the building you enter the park through.

Same here that's why I do not belive this so called news story. It's full of far too many inaccuracies.

Some more rumors and news and what I say is simply words from other people not myself. So don't get mad at me.

1. Newport Bay Resort is going to be a deluxe after it opens. I think it is three stars but will be bumped to four. 500 rooms are down at the moment.

2. The New York Hotel is going down as a whole right after the Newport is finished. The resort is going to be bumped up to Deluxe level.

3. Toy Story Midway Mania is still being planned and worked on for the Walt Disney Studios.

3. Magic Kingdom is looking at updates rather then new rides. Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Star Tours and Pirates of the Caribbean are all slated for some updates...nothing major so no major money.

4. A marvel overlay for the studios is still being looked at and heavily considered. This as management is looking at ways to fix that entire side of the park.

I sincerely hope Studio One is left well alone.. IMO it's the only "magical" part of the Studio's park, and the park itself needs to take example from it, not the other way around!... The Studio's simply need to be better at Christmas also.. they feel so bare and soulless compared to the Disney park, they need to add large Christmas trees, more music, lights, decorations etc to it at Christmas... the only decoration you tend to see is in front of Studio One and by the entrance gates, that's it. Bring on the rest!

~No way is it deluxe??! Give me the Sequoia any day. Rumours are for it to be bumped, but you won't see a difference in it unless you are staying above standard level.

~The HNY WILL close for a year for refurbs. I can't see it being the same as the NPB and the HNY is more personal.

~We always have this rumour circulating. So many plans have been made surrounding other atrractions/rides that this won't happen for ages. We have just had Ratatouille, they will invest in the Disneyland Park for the 25th.

~sounds like the normal refurbishment programme. Contradicts the other rumour about BTM going down for a huge overhaul???

~ah the Marvel debate. Will totally clash with the otherside of the park. They would loose the original concept of it being a film studio is they centre around one theme. I'd rather they updated with real Disney theming and built a new park.

Hmm. I actually hate some of these rumours. There is never and fluid flow and they always end up looking like a bad game of Chinese Whispers......

I've just listened to Steve's podcast and the news that Phantom Manor may be getting a huge overhaul, change of storyline, closed for a year. No,no,no,no,no I love Phantom Manor the way it is, I love that it looks spooky and has a unique Thunder Mesa storyline, I don't want that changed at all

The latest rumour on Phantom Manor is that the proposed changes will enhance / add to the storyline, but what that actually means nobody knows. There seems to be a 'look what they did to SM2, not sure people will like the changes to PM' concern from people that are in the know. As for how long it's closing down for - we don't know, just that it will reopen after it's changes some time in 2017.

The things that are not rumours, but said in a shareholder's meeting last week are:

- Hotel NY to close for a year and become 4*+ hotel

- Newport Bay to reopen as a 4* hotel

- Disney Village and Studios expansions planned (Euro Disney SCA is working with The Walt Disney Company to finance expansions)

- Free Wi-Fi as early as next year, with RFID passes

- 25th Anniversary will be even better than 25th

Nothing else has been confirmed by Disneyland Paris themselves, though a fair bit comes from reliable sources, but as always, is open to change.
