How busy is Disney in mid July? We have only ever been there the last week of Sept which wasn't bad and we could easily do it within a day. We are thinking of going next year mid July though so wasnt sure how bad it is.

Well we spent 1 day there in 2009 - a Wednesday, right in the middle of the month - crowds were low early in the day *that's the key - get there prior to opening* and moderate in the evening - collect FPs to use later in the day *after a mid day break*

I think crowds from previous years will not be a great indicator for summer 2012. With the opening of Carsland, I expect crowds to be huge for the entire summer.

The PP's strategy of arriving early and collecting FP's early and often will definitely apply.

Just expect large crowds, plan ahead, and enjoy! :thumbsup2

We just came back from a mid July trip. Mid July is our favorite time! We love it because it is in the middle of summer, the hours are long, and the weather is nice.

"Crowded" is a matter of opinion. It was crowded, but I've seen it much worse. To me "extremely crowded" means all you can do is shuffle down the paths because you can't see the pavement. July was not like that. We were able to walk at a medium pace most of the time. There are also some attractions with little to no waiting. (Over the holidays even the Blue Sky Cellar had a line. Now that's extremely crowded!)

With wise use of FPs we had no trouble getting on lots of rides. We never waited longer than 40 minutes and that was for TSMM which has no FP and doesn't often get better than that anyway. Otherwise our average wait was 15 min. Our rule is: if it is a FP ride, we don't wait in Standby line that is over 20 min.

We've been twice during July and we've had good success. Of course going in mentally prepared for crowds helps a lot. We had a few mornings that were really light though and that made for great days. We utilized fast passes quite a bit and a few standby lines and tried to bigger rides in the morning when crowds were low. Our last day there we basically walked on to almost everything we went on for the first 2 hours. It was FABULOUS. We even rode Peter Pan two times in a row just cuz we could!

We'll be back July 2013! :thumbsup2

We were there July 11-15. It was pretty crowded, but a doable crowd. I've been in worse ones there. We never waited more than 20 minutes for a ride and made sure to collect fast passes all day. We even had 4 kids 5 and under with us and felt it was a success, if that helps! :)

Our experience with July is the same as PB. There are crowds to some degree. But totally managebable - especially if you tour smart. If you stay far away from DLR and cannot take afternoon breaks the crowds will seem much worse. If you tour smart and stay close you can work around most of the crowds.

We were there July 8-15th this year and I totally agree with Pink Budgie. Crowds were heavy but not unmanageable. I would go again in July for the same reasons: nice weather, long hours and most everything up and running. We were really worried about California weather in July - we are from cool Canada! - but found it to be absolutely perfect, cool in the mornings, warm -not too hot - in the afternoons, and cool again in the evenings. Perfect weather for a theme park holiday!
