** Disneyland Merriest Nights - Official Thread **

I am actually pretty bummed that they are doing this. It seems like they are just taking more and more things that used to be included with admission and making them paid extras. I am inferring from the details that the "snow on main street" will now be exclusive to these parties. In addition, the only two parades to return have been for paid events. If they can do parades for paid events, they can do the for the general attendance riff-raff too.

Don't get me wrong, the party sounds fun, but it really feels like this is also an extension of the "paid perks" program forthcoming with the Genie+ app.

If they have snow at the normal holiday fireworks and bring back parades for everyone at some point soon, then awesome. If not, then this is a huge bummer.

P.S. Where is Fantasmic?! My initial plan was to wait for a second trip until Fantasmic was back. I thought for sure that would be by Christmas time. Looks like I was wrong...

It is my understanding, the snow on Main St, parades, and fireworks will be happening all Christmas season long. Can you explain where you see that that will not be happening?

As for Fantasmic!, I personally don't see it returning til probably Spring Break time, possibly next summer. Staffing isn't there to bring it back sooner. With the park only operating at 55-60% capacity and staffing at just above 50%, it will take a while to get everything back.

Oh, ignore me being grumpy then. I was jumping to conclusions. I didn't read that anywhere.

What you say about Fantasmic makes sense too. It's a bummer, but it makes sense. Here's looking forward to getting further and further back to normal.

This thread will be for everyone to post the dates they will be going, and letting each other know if they would like to meet up for a group picture (that would be fun), share general information, and post pictures of the event itself.

I don't really anticipate more dates. I think they are testing this year to see how it goes.

Our family ( me, DH,DD,and my parents) had already planned our trip for. 12-5 12-10, and am rather taken aback that they dropped this on us so late ! Needless to say we now have two less opportunities to see DL Christmas offerings at night. I hope all have fun, we love MVMCP at WDW. But we will be over at DCA during the parties.

Does anyone know what time people who are not attending Merriest Nites need to leave Disneyland? I didn't get tickets and Dec 7 is our last night there. I'm assuming we can go to DCA.

Yes at 8 they will be looking at everyone's wrist bands at every single ride and many other areas of the park escorting those without wrist bands out.... you can go to DCA if it isn't at capacity and if you have park hoppers.

Thank you! Yes , we have hoppers. I chose my dates before we knew merriest nites was happening and I can't get tickets.

So Muppets or no Muppets?

I pretty much exclusively bought my tickets off of the back of that Muppets news, so if they've been removed I'm going to be sorely disappointed. It's odd and a little troubling that any mention of them has been scrubbed from the event page.
