Longtime reader, first-time poster...Anyone know if they still sell the full-size posters of the Disneyland park anywhere inside the park? I looked for them last time I was there in December, but couldn't find them...Really want to get a hold of one to frame for my wall. Thanks for all your help!

It's very hard to find unfolded maps to frame in the park... Your best bet is in the Disney Gallery on Main St. or Off the Page in DCA. The only time I had any luck was durring the 50th anniversary when they had a limited edition print available. It was a higher quality print of the collectible/souvenier map they were offering in all the other stores around Disneyland at the time. You may want to check e-bay. Finding an unfolded/uncreased map will be tough... let me know if you have any luck!

BTW... Welcome to the boards!

ETA... Here is a ebay offer for the collectible/souvenir map from the 50th anniversary: http://cgi.ebay.com/DISNEYLAND-50TH...124?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b94dbcdc

This is the map that is hanging on my wall. It is one of my prized posessions ;) You'll notice it is a little different than the one offered on ebay. This version is numbered (something out of 500 or 5000 I forget, the number is covered by the matte). The emblem on the bottom right is metallic gold rather than the colored logo on the souvenir version offered up in most stores. No creases! It is on a lot heavier stock. It would be real difficult to fold these. I had it custom framed because I didn't like the stock frame they were offering in the gallery.

I had trouble finding them (the folded ones) last time I looked. The only place that had them was the Newstand at the front of the park.

Thanks for the help! I'll check the newsstand for sure. If not, I can always find one on eBay I guess!

I have not seen the folded maps around the parks for a while now. I do have the souvenir version of CrazyDuck's map. We bought a poster frame and framed it that way and don't really notice the creases.

OP, last month when in Disneyland, DH and I noticed that the Art on Demand kiosk now offers a version of the map CrazyDuck posted. It doesn't have the 50th logo on it anymore but otherwise looks very similar. You can have the print made on paper or canvas, purchase a frame or not. I believe you can choose different sizes, but I'm not sure. You make the purchase in the park or at WoD, and it is shipped to your home.

I also saw the folded map 2 weeks ago in the gift shop inside the Paradise Pier Hotel. I did not notice it in the parks (because I was not looking for it).

I agree with a PP that the Disney Gallery on Main Street would be a great place to get one that is not folded. We played around with the kiosk some and you can order prints in different sizes (not sure about maps though...). Good Luck!

I think I've seen them at World of Disney. I'm a big fan of the maps too - have one from 1964 and most editions since. Would like to get a 1958a series - the pre-Matterhorn map.

I saw that World of Disney does have ability to print the map in various sizes. I believe it is the 1958 map, actually the one I'm interested in, but it might be for everyone at the $55 price for the full size version. (I'm having to think about it too.)

We did see the folded maps of current DL in a couple shops.

Hi. I've been trying to research a large illustrated map of Disneyland Park that I bought at a garage sale in Long Beach (next door to anaheim). I haven't taken a picture yet but it's copyrighted 1964 in the lower left corner. Goes all the way out to the Disneyland Hotel & the driving range & miniature golf course, and then has parts of the park I don't remember at all...like Edison Square, Liberty Street, Red Wagon Inn, Hobbyland & Art Corner. Still has the "House of the Future" on it, Indian Village, & Fire Dance Circle.

Map is predominantly shades of green & blue, on white stock, and map is surrounded with famous Disney character faces spaced along four sides of a rectangular mint-green border.

I'm assuming it's kinda rare...just don't know how rare it might be.
Few light wrinkles and margin tears...but overall really great, unstained (well, some foxing in upper left corner) and unfaded.
Measures 3ft wide by 4ft 1 1/2".

I actually live in Anaheim. If anyone wants to write I can attempt to send photos. Would really like to know if this map sounds familiar to anyone, has seen it, or knows where I can look it up.
Thanks so much!! ~ Markoalert pirate:

P>S> Even has a legend in the lower right...don't know if they did that on souvenir maps.

We have an old map my FIL bought DH on one of their early visits to DL in the 70's. We just had it framed at Michaels. We were going to put it in the kids' playroom, but loved it too much to put it in there. Now it's prominently displayed in a hallway.

If you find an old one that has creases, if you get the map professionally framed, they can always dry-mount the map so that the creases are less apparent. Even though our map was folded like a typical map (lots of creases), the only creases evident after the dry-mount are the center horizontal & vertical ones.

Thanks for this link jlmarr. We have a 1966 one (even though it was bought at DL in the mid-late 70s. We love our map! The kids adore it, too!

Wow. Thanks. That was a great help!!

I guess I have the 1964A version because I can't find any stars in the border. Really appreciate your quick reply. Now I have to figure out what to do with it.

Have a great week ~ Markoalert.

We got our in 2009 in the Gallery store that they are talking about. It was folded. We had to ask at City Hall on our last day because we couldn't find one anywhere! I just framed it about two weeks ago. I got most of the creases out with an old towel and an iron. :rolleyes1 But mine had also been folded up on the shelf since '09. We are also developing some or our pictures from our first trip in black and white to put up next to it. I really like it framed so I would defiantly say it is worth the hunt! :goodvibes Good Luck!

I found the folded map on our December trip in the candy shop in Critter Country (Pooh Corner).
They were on a shelf with some stuffies and autograph books. I wasn't even sure what the map looked like because they didn't have an unfolded one on display anywhere! I bought it anyway, since it was only around $5, and I just unfolded it a few days ago. It looks very much like the one CrazyDuck posted. I love it!

Just wanted to share our 1966 map. We love it!

You can see the main crease, but not the lesser creases.

These maps are so awesome. I love the 1966 one.

I'll be back at Disneyland in a month, and I'm definitely going to buy one to frame and hang in my office at work. It will be nice to have it to look at whenever I'm feeling burned out (for a while I had the map as my screen saver on my computer).
