We (me, DH, DD14, and DD11) would like to visit Disneyland either June 3-8 or July 23-28. So, which dates are better to visit. We would like to see Carsland and other new things but we are willing to wait for those. We have been there before in June and it was too cold to swim. So, as far as crowds, which dates are better?

June: too cold to swim; no Carsland, cheaper hotel rates, how crowded is it going to be this year?
July: warm enough to swim, Carsland, more expensive hotel rates, more or less crowded than June?

Thanks

I would think the July dates would be extremely busy. I'd choose the June dates if you don't mind missing Carsland. And if you do go in July, Carsland will have just been open about a month, so expect it to be pretty crowded.

If you care more about Carsland and the pool, then go in July---

If you want smaller crowds (it will be much less crowded in early June) and a slower pace, then go in June.

We are going in early-ish June because we want to avoid the whole Carsland opening thing. I have been there were other new openings, and it is often very crowded for a while. I know we will be back eventually, and THEN we will go to Carsland.

Thanks. I just checked the block-out dates for June and July and the first 2 days in June are not blocked out for locals AP holders, but the July dates are. Does this make a difference? Also, June dates are usually too cold to swim. Is it much warmer in July?

Makes a difference for me, since that means I'll be going. ;)

July is unpredictable. I've worn sweatshirts on the 4th of July many times! (I'm a little south in San Diego). June is usually pretty gloomy. You have a much better chance of it being warm in July, especially towards the end.

Thanks. I am not sure how I feel about Carsland yet. I didn't care much about the movies, but the rides seem fun. My kids like the warmer temperature and we were there once during the third week of August and it was very crowded but manageable. Is July more crowded than mid-August?
