Hey everyone,

We are doing a honeymoon in Hawaii, with a stop over in Disneyland on the way, in January... we are probably going to be flying out of Newark or Philadelphia on January 1st of 2nd.

This will be the first time I've ever been to Disneyland (or west of Colorado) and don't know when/if I will ever be going back.

I will definately be staying through January 4, so I can spend my 27th birthday in Disneyland.

Is 3 days enough to feel like it was worth going to Disneyland/DCA, or should we go for 4 days? Also, what will the crowds be like then? I know WDW usually empties out on Jan 1/2.

Will it still be busy? (Jan 1 is a Sunday)

And most importantly, if I beg and cry do you think they will dig Roger Rabbit out and let me take a picture with him?

Three days is a decent ammount of time, it will still be a little busy, but not too bad, as most schools should be going back in session on the 2nd from Christmas Break. More than likely the Christmas stuff will still be up until after the following weekend as well, but who knows? New Year's Eve and most New Year's days are quite busy, but the second usually dies down as well. Just make sure to utuilise FastPass (I am sure that there are lots of threads on how to do so.)

Thanks for the tips.. I'm definately an expert on WDW (former cast member) and just thirlled abotu going to DL.. I am thinking we will hopefully get 4 days :)

We did Jan 1-4th last year (2204) and it was GREAT! It rained some on one day, but that reduced the crowds even more. No more than a 20 minute wait in line the entire trip. :maleficen Also, on Jan 2nd they displayed Disney's Rose Parade Float in DCA with characters around it all day. :cool1:

This year (2005) I went for the afternoon/evening on Jan. 6th and our group was able to ride almost every ride in the DL in a 4 hour time frame. Of course... it rained on the 5th and the 7th and snow had closed one of the major freeways the weekend before, so that may have had something to do with the crowd factor. :teeth:

Don't worry about bad weather though. DL sells collapsable umbrellas for $10 and rain ponchos for about the same price on rainy days.
