Disneyland in June

Hello! :)

My BIL has decided to get married in Vegas in June. It's honestly not high on our bucket list of places to see and the fare from Ontario to Vegas is ridiculous, so I decided on a whim to check the fare to LAX. It's considerably cheaper.

Sooo, we are thinking of maybe flying out to CA on a Thursday (getting there in the afternoon), spend Friday at DL, drive to Vegas on Saturday (no rush, the wedding isn't til 8pm) and spend the night then drive back to CA the next morning and probably meet with a friend, hang out, etc. Fly back Monday AM, maybe Tuesday.

First, any thoughts on this agenda? Too hectic, etc.?

Next, I have some questions on hotels. I did some research on TripAdvisor about ratings and based on cost, these seem to fit our budget...

Holiday Inn Buena Park

Best Western Plus Meridian

Best Western Stovalls

HoJo Park Plaza

Thoughts on the above? HoJo is the most expensive, but only more by just over $100 and I am thinking it'll save us money on going elsewhere (ie LegoLand) as my 3 y.o will probably be just as happy playing there.

Any thoughts, advice would be appreciated!

TIA!

Have you been to DLR before? If it's not a regular thing I would spend more days there.

Of your list for sure the Hojo since it is close, Stovalls would work too, but it a little far for a 3yo to walk, so expect to have him/her in stroller o on shoulders going back.

Though honestly your list is a little strange and not what people usually come up with. Take TA with a grain of salt and consider closer places.

If you do go to Legoland if you sign up for lego club magazine, which is free, it usually has a coupon for free child admission with paying adult.

This sounds way to hectic even for me!

Be aware that driving back and forth from SoCal to Vegas can be truly agonizing in terms of traffic. On Fridays driving to Vegas, and on Sundays coming back. Like traffic in the middle of the desert with no one around except you and thousands of other cars, stop and go.

Frankly I think it is worth paying a little extra money to not waste so much time driving around from here to there and just flying to where you want to go. Have you checked all options like those not listed on the Expedias like Southwest airlines? And American airlines - no longer on Expedia?

 thats funny Hydro- you mention the two airlines that have had problems this past week! I still like Southwest..... pretty cheap and really cool flight attendants!

OP- that does seem pretty hectic to me too.... but I am sure you will have fun- sometimes a crazy plan works out to be fun and full of surprise adventures!

If it were just grown ups I'd say Go for it! You only live once! But with a 3yr old in tow it may just be too much for such a short trip...maybe if you were to stretch it out over several days. With a 3yr old I'd just fly into Vegas, I'm sure that flight will be hard enough on him/her(?).
