Disneyland in 2 days - LAX question

I am off to LA in 2 days and then the big disneyland trip. I got a question related to the trip, but not necessarily related to disneyland. But since all the pros are on this board, I thought I would post it here.

I am staying in Santa Monica for 4 days, before I go to the HOJO for 7 days. Whats the cheapest/easiest way to get from LAX to Santa Monica. The best I have found so far is a shuttle and thats $76. Or is that about the best price I will get? I really have no idea.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

what shuttle service is that? I would say go thru as many shuttle services as you can, and if there all about the same I say take a town car. maybe a bt more, but way less hassles.

the hotel suggested I go with super shuttle It seems like a lot, but maybe thats just the price I will have to pay.

Markdude, that seems like alot. I want to think that Santa Monica to LAX is less than 8-10 miles (15 min. tops) using Lincoln Blvd. (hwy 1)

I would think a cab would be cheaper. (& i bet there are buses that do this route as well). Any locals know??

I think that supershuttle charges quite a bit when not picking up from an airport. So going from an address in Santa Monica is going to cost more. And if you used a zip code for DLR instead of a motel name, that's going to be even more (go do your quote again using the hotel name, see if it makes a difference).

If you can get yourself to an airport, SS rates might be lower.

But if the town is that close to DLR, then google "taxi anaheim" and get to the websites, call them, see what a quote would be! I did that in San Diego (googled "taxi san diego" of course) and had a taxi pick me up right on time from where I was staying, it was lovely. And since the rate was figured out ahead of time I knew what to expect.
