Disneyland Hotel Construction?

We get to take another couple for their first trip to a Disney park. Everyone is very excited. We, in the past 3 trips, have stayed in the Disneyland Hotel, but I've heard there is major construction going on. We ran into that back in 2000 and it took a little away from the experience. So, we're considering Paradise Pier or Grand Californian. One of our party has some mobility problems (she'll be using an ECV) so that is a factor.

When are you going?

Right now the courtyard (except part of the Neverland Pool) and the Magic Tower are under construction. The courtyard is supposed to be done by summer (other than the Neverland Pool retheming, which I think they aren't going to start until Fall). I'm assuming they're trying to get Magic done by summer too. Of course no guarantees.

Right now, if you're in Dreams tower not facing the courtyard, you won't notice the construction much. If you're in Wonder you have to walk around the long way because you can't cut through the courtyard. If you're in Magic you're right in the heart of construction.

Sorry about that. We're planning to go the weekend of April 8th.

What're the crowds like then?
