Is the Halloween party in DL typically held on the same days every year? Last year was Mon, Wed, Fri or Sat if I read it correctly. I really need to book my flight in the day or so but really want to arrive the day of the party so that arriving late is no big deal and Im not having to pay full price for only a half day at Disney.

If you look at the first page of this thread (HalloweenTime at DLR Superthread #5-- HALLOWEENTIME STARTS SEPT. 9!! SOLD OUT!!), you'll see that the dates are not fixed each year. Last year did hold to the M,W,F pattern, with the Saturday before Halloween added. But the year before that had at least one Tuesday and a Thursday, if not more (if I remember correctly). There has been very little information released about MHP this year. And there is, yet another, rumor that the party will be moved to DCA. Most likely, we won't know any solid information until later this summer.

I believe the dates are released in July. I would assume they will go with the MWF parties, but with Disney you never know.

2015 and 2016 were the first years where there was almost a pattern to the party dates, but in years prior to that and the closer you get to Halloween, the days of the week when there are parties change. In general, they try to avoid having parties on consecutive nights and there is almost always a party on Friday. All that being said, dates have generally been released in early-to-mid-July for the last few years, so hopefully they'll follow the same pattern as the last few years and we should know in about a month when (and where) this year's parties occur.

The other thing I would worry about having the party be on arrival night, is that my flight would be delayed or cancelled and I would miss the party! I don't have enough faith in any airline to plan something super special for arrival night, just in case. But I get your point about not wanting to spend money on a park ticket and a party ticket for the same date.

Thanks everyone. Uggghhh Disney you make it so hard to plan ahead. I need to book these plane tickets. I really don't want to be there when there are several nights I have to exit the park at 6pm. Maybe halloween isn't a good time to plan to go :(

Last question. Im looking at DW dates, DL doesn't have as many days they do it as DW right? Im looking at past dates and it seems like DW has more nights of parties than DL

WDW also starts their parties earlier than DL (this year, the first MNSSHP is on August 25!).

I wouldn't try to hard to find a pattern. As we've been finding lately, the past is not necessarily a good predictor of the future. DLR is very good at changing things up without any notice or explanation.

Yes, it's hard to predict...
It's not even confirmed where the parties will take place, DL or DCA.

We booked our plane tickets, assuming it will be MWF.

If you're going during Halloweentime, it's almost inevitable that one of your days you will have to exit because of the Halloween parties, since they run around last week in September through October at least 3 times a week. Good if you're going to the parties, bad if you're not. You could always do opposite days, like visiting DCA on a party day then doing DL on a nonparty day. Hope everything works out for you! :)

The last 2 years, DL had 17 Halloween parties. We don't know if that will be the case again this year.

I have gone the last 3 years the same exact weekend and have had no issue planning. We go the third weekend in Oct as this is the best time for me to go due to work. I already scheduled my flight for the morning of 10/19 and feel pretty confident about it. You could wait a few weeks if your really concerned but I would look at the schedule the OP input above and select one of the consistent dates above.
