Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

DH and I would enjoy a meetup, but we won’t be there until Saturday. We’re flying ATL to LAX on Delta, and should land mid-morning on Saturday. I do not look forward to getting from LAX to DL. I’ve been looking at options—shuttles and Uber—and there doesn’t seem to be a great way to do it. Does anybody have recommendations? We’re used to being able to drive to WDW, so this is so much more complicated to plan.

I almost got everything I wanted. I'd like to dine at Blue Bayou as a post 71 celebration, but it's the only one I couldn't get. Maybe it's not open yet. I guess I'll keep checking back, but I snagged Cafe Orleans as a good backup.

I went with Carnation Cafe for the night before the half. Otherwise, I'm going counter service to same some money after Disney World the week before.

I keep trying to change my Wine Country Trattoria ADR for the night before the half, and it's only getting worse and worse. Dinner is gone. Lunch before 3:00? Forget it. It's the only day sold like this.

I was just thinking what a bummer it is that Fantasmic, WOC, and HM or IASW will be offline when we are there. I'm really hoping Magic Happens will be back in time.

Seriously! It’s a major fail in my opinion to not hold off the WoC closure until after the races, especially since it’s also a holiday weekend

At that time of day on a Saturday traffic shouldn't be horrendous, but it's LA so all bets are off. Honestly your best bet is to just grab an Uber. Pay attention to the signage to guide you to pick-up as it's in kind of a weird location. It won't be cheap, but as you've found, there really aren't a lot of good alternatives.

Yeah, I had friends/family who were going to come for the few days before the runDisney weekend, but it seems like there won't be any nighttime shows or parades happening during the week. Hopefully we'll at least have the fireworks during the weekend days.

I was also surprised about WOC closing before the runDisney/holiday weekend.

Great Maple reservations appear open on Disneyland app today, in addition to opentable. For some reason I don’t see any on run Disney weekend Jan 11-14, but I was able to grab breakfast on Monday Jan 15

I am noticing you can book Wed too.... but then skips our weekend. Why do they need to make things so hard for us? Just have it open for reservations.

Yup! I’m wondering if they’re closed for race weekend for some reason because it’s closed for the days there are RunDisney events

It's like Disneyland officials got together and said "how can we make sure the runners for the race weekend have the worst experience possible? Let's close everything for refurbishment and close down the restaurants."

Yep. Confirmed by a VIP tour rep when we asked if they could get us a reservation if we did a VIP tour. We asked for either Saturday the 13th, Sunday the 14th, or Monday the 15th, and were told it's closed. The rep asked if we wanted Cafe Orleans reservations instead lol.

it closed through the weekend, too?! I tried to get reservations every day thru the 17th and never saw a single slot open.
