I'm looking for information on the firehouse in Disneyland. We are planning our first Disneyland trip for December and I know this is on my DH's list.

He was very disappointed during our 2012 WDW trip to see that the Magic Kingdom had been turned into a store of some sort to purchase/participate in one of the park games I believe. That was always one of his "MUST STOP" places where he would stock up on WDW/Mickey Mouse Fire Dept shirts (Reedy Creek is always the other must stop place).

The only thing I have been able to find out about the Disneyland Firehouse is that Walt's apartment is above it and there looks to be some museum type pieces in there. Do they have anything else in there?

Thanks!

Horse drawn fire wagon, ephemera on the walls, and Walt's Apartment above...

The firehouse is one of the locations where you can sign up to play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. It's free to play (which is great)!

As the PP said, there is a fire wagon and some decor on the walls. Walt's apartment is above the fire station, but that is not open to the general public. The fire house doesn't have any merchandise and I can't honestly think of any place in DLR that carries fire department-type merchandise.

There's Red's helmet in DCA and there used to be a pin with Mickey shaking hands with a firefighter, but I think you might have better luck on eBay with that one. They used to give out stickers at the firehouse, but I can't think of any specific merchandise.

Thanks for the replies!

DH already has the pin with Mickey shaking hands with the firefighter as well as several other pins with a fire theme. He had an awesome shirt with Mickey manning a hose but he has nearly worn holes in that. He was hoping to replace it.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom was fun when we were last at WDW, but DH didn't enjoy it. I think he was protesting over the loss of his favorite store in the MK :rotfl2:

If, and I gather your DH is a firefighter, then I would try to get backstage to visit the DLFD. You can try asking at city hall to call back there. It is a crap shoot though. Mornings are out as there are preside inspections and you can't do it around parade times. It use to be possible to buy merchandise from them but LEGAL stopped that a while ago.

llump41, THANK YOU so very much for that information. We will definitely be stopping and asking for that. My DH would love it.

I know on every trip to WDW, we have to block out time to stop at Reedy Creek so that DH can check out the gear and equipment, take some pictures, drop off/trade patches, and buy a bunch of T-shirts from them.

The Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour sounds pretty cool and I may have to look into that also!

Thanks!
